After reading this news, I feel that Infineon, a semiconductor giant in the automotive industry, has actually entered the consumer industry. Take a look, this is the shoe below, it looks like "lighting up", and I actually feel like it is lighting up . Official introduction: This innovative and intelligent Adidas Originals NMD S1 shoe is equipped with high-end sensor technology, which can sense the music and beats in the environment, and then present different programmable lighting effects. The audio information is converted into dynamic color LED effects on the shoe through a microphone and a microcontroller.
The Infineon Lighting Shoe is a prototype shoe that vividly demonstrates the application of state-of-the-art semiconductor technology in fashion products. Thanks to the high-quality XENSIV MEMS microphone, the shoe can "hear" the subtlest sound signals . The integrated PSoC microcontroller handles the audio input. The EZ-PD Barrel Connector Converter (BCR) solution combined with the efficient OptiMOS power MOSFET enables the shoe to be charged via USB-C Power Delivery (PD). The adidas Originals NMD S1 has a perfect fit and enough space to place highly sensitive technical components inside the shoe without compromising comfort.
With this prototype shoe, Infineon and adidas demonstrate how technology and fashion can be combined. Adam White, President of the Power and Sensing Systems Division at Infineon Technologies, said: "Contextual Awareness through Intuitive Sensing makes it easier to use IoT devices when devices can hear, see or feel through technology. The Infineon Lighting Shoe shows how to bring technology and digitalization closer to people. We are honored to work with adidas on this innovative collaboration."
“Innovation and performance are core drivers at adidas . The innovations we create must shock, go beyond the norm, surprise and, most importantly, be fun. Together with Infineon, we have succeeded in achieving this with the Lighting Shoe prototype. We have demonstrated how digital products can be created where technology and fashion complement each other,” said Burkhard Dümler, Director of Innovation at adidas.
