1 Installation Tools

The MSPM0L1306 LaunchPad development kit has a variety of software development tools available, such as TI's Code Composer Studio IDE, IAR Embedded Workbench IDE and Keil Vision IDE. Among these installed IDEs, TI's original development tool CCS is the most common, which can be used with various XDS series. There is also a sysconfig, which is a system configuration tool and a very convenient development tool.

The various resources of the development board hardware used are clearly shown in the figure below.

The corresponding text version of the connection diagram is as follows. The dotted line is the XDS110 debugger, and the dotted line is the onboard LED and other resources.

2 Sysconfig configuration process

Start the installation

After the installation is complete, it will start smoothly. To start, you need to select the product and SDK first.

This will start the program installation successfully.

3 TI CCS installation and configuration process

Start the installer,

Then select the hardware driver you need to install, here select MSPM0 and MSP430

Specifically indicates unsupported debuggers,

start installation,

After the installation is complete, you need to restart the system for the configuration to take effect.

Then start the program and install it successfully

This way CCS is also installed successfully

4 Built-in program operation and experience

This development board is equipped with a factory program to control the following hardware resources

  • LED Light
The specific connection pins and LED correspondence are as follows
  • Light sensor
The connection of the light sensor is as follows,
  • Thermistor

A 10k linear thermistor (PTC) – TMP6131 is included, the PTC is in a low side configuration with a 10kΩ 10ppm pull-up resistor. The default position of the jumper in the header shown (1-2 position) connects the circuit directly to the ADC. In this mode, the output voltage is approximately 1.6V at room temperature. The jumper can also be set to the 2-3 position to allow the OPA to be connected to the thermistor. The OPA output can be internally connected to the negative OPA terminal using software. This allows the OPA to be used as a buffer for the thermistor and internally connected to the ADC channel for sampling.

Connect the USB lead, and then connect the tool putty through the serial port. This will continuously display the status of the above three external devices, and use the two onboard buttons to switch and control them. The screenshot is as follows.
5 Others
Another development tool is cloud development, which does not require the installation of IDE, and can be debugged and developed directly online. Here, the TI agent plug-in needs to be installed, and the installation process does not seem to be very smooth. Therefore, for cloud development, the local firewall and antivirus software should not be too aggressive, and should have a tolerance for pop-ups. Try to install and use this later.

I tried it and found that keil+sysconfig is more convenient to use. I used ccs before, but the installation package was too large.
