UL62368-1 is a new international product safety standard covering audio-visual, consumer electronics, and information and communications technology products; it will completely replace the current UL60950-1 and UL60065 in the next few years.
UL 62368-1 Standard Fuse Parallel Design Requirements
Due to market demand, power specifications are getting larger and larger. It is difficult to find materials that have high current and meet European and American standards when selecting fuses, so power supply manufacturers have this problem in design.
According to UL62368-1 standard 5.6.4.3 (2nd) / 5.6.4.2.4 (3rd), it is mentioned that overcurrent protective device (Fuse) shall not be connected in parallel, but it does not specify which type of power supply it refers to. However, UL has clarified that both AC mains and DC mains must comply with this provision and fuses cannot be connected in parallel. For products other than mains, fuse parallel design can be used, but the fuse specifications must be the same for parallel connection.
