What is a private 5G network?

A private 5G network is more like a large wirelessly connected local area network that will use 5G technology to build and create a network. Such a network is expected to carry all the characteristics of a 5G network, including reduced latency and increased speed. Private 5G networks, sometimes referred to as local 5G networks, provide unified connectivity with various advantages and optimized services.

Having a private 5G network has various advantages in terms of efficiency and security. Private LTE networks running on 4G network technology are already commercially available and widely used. Therefore, companies, organizations, regulators, and other potential users are now looking forward to private 5G networks to make the most of this upcoming trend.

What are the advantages of private 5G networks?

Wireless Networking

Most companies still rely on wired connections, such as Ethernet, for networking, efficiency, speed, and reliability. On the other hand, private 5G networks have the potential to replace these large and difficult-to-manage wired networks. Wireless connections can be freely deployed and changed in real time, with lower deployment costs. The intelligent transformation of production equipment can provide more follow-up space. 5G networks have many advantages and features that can bring huge benefits. Due to its high speed, low latency, and multi-application support, it has all the basic characteristics to replace traditional wired network connections.

Autonomous Operation and Maintenance

Adopting private 5G network deployment to support more reliable localized operation and maintenance management can greatly reduce a company's dependence on public network suppliers and reduce the constraints on internal configuration and network applications. Autonomous business service configuration can provide a number of other benefits in terms of security, monitoring, planning, resource management and utilization reporting.

Safety

Among all the benefits and advantages of using a private 5G network, security is of utmost importance. It will be more secure than all current wireless networks because the network operators will have all the rights to configure and secure the network the way they want. All security policies can be custom designed and fully controlled within the organization without having to rely on external service providers.

Wi-Fi can also be "roamed", and all kinds of Wi-Fi devices can be connected. As a private network, various network applications are also very rich, and the speed is also quite advantageous compared to 5G. It is not much worse than 5G, and the important thing is to save money. The cost of private 5G is definitely crazy high, base stations, main control rooms...any of them will cost a lot. And it is very likely that the terminal equipment will need a "customized SIM card", which is really not something a small company can afford.

Do you have a license? Will the Radio Control Commission come to check?

If it is purely local, what qualifications does he have to check it? Can't he just not connect to the shared network?  Details Published on 2022-10-8 21:19

I'll show you another day. I happened to see someone using a shortwave antenna on the roof of a residential building. I guess it was an amateur.  Details Published on 2022-10-8 20:52

Isn't the power of shortwave very high? Can household electricity meet this power supply demand?  Details Published on 2022-10-8 20:54

Yes, you can use it in a car. Basically, the communication distance is within 50W. You need to calculate it. Military use is generally around 150W. Civilian use is still not too arrogant. The Radio Management Committee is still strict in its inspection.  Details Published on 2022-10-8 20:58

Yes, it can be mounted in the car. The communication distance is basically within 50W. You need to calculate it. Military use is generally around 150W. Civilian use is still not too arrogant. The Radio Management Committee is still strict in its inspection. When it was suppressed before, the signal was basically paralyzed. Fortunately, Zhou Wei did not report it. He called the mobile, Unicom and Telecom customers.

Even if private 5G is possible, it should be subject to certain regulations and licenses. Otherwise, how can it be managed? It will be a mess.

I think network upgrades are all based on demand. There is really no need for 5G right now. Why did 2G upgrade to 3G? We want to see pictures, all kinds of pictures. Why did 3G upgrade to 4G? We want to see videos, all kinds of videos. Why did 4G upgrade to 5G? We want... It seems that there is no big demand for upgrading.

I can only say that our daily needs for broadband and speed are not that great, right? But I think it is still needed in some cutting-edge or special fields. It will take a few more years for us to feel the benefits in some aspects of life after various products in life are upgraded and iterated, or technological innovations are applied.  Details Published on 2022-10-9 09:47

Is it similar to wireless LAN? Is it just related to the 5G frequency band?

5G private networks will be dedicated to users, independently managed and easy to deploy. However, 5G will have some key advantages over existing technologies. Wireless: Private 5G networks will reduce the need for wired technologies such as Ethernet, which are expensive, bulky and not suitable for connecting large numbers of small devices and in dynamic environments, such as when people and devices are moving. Network slicing: A key feature of 5G is the ability to create multiple virtual networks that can be customized and optimized for specific services and traffic using specific network slices. This means that private 5G networks can optimize the network for the needs of users and different uses within the network.

Isn't the Internet meant to connect everyone? I don't think it can be used for anything if it becomes private.
