The OP

I have been working for 4 years, but I am still confused about the direction of my career development. [Copy link]

When I just graduated, I had no idea about the industry. I changed jobs several times to companies in different industries. Now I feel that it is because the two companies are not in the same industry at all. After joining, people need to train for a period of time before they can get started. There is no advantage of proficiency, so the company is only willing to offer a very low salary increase, or even a flat salary, to recruit people. It is the kind of attitude of "come if you want, get out if you don't want to." Every time I accepted a low salary and joined the company without any choice, so now my income is still very low, and I dare not tell my classmates.

I worked in hardware for the first two years of my career and changed two companies. My salary only increased by 2,000. Then I changed my career and worked in embedded Linux software. The salary of the first job I found after the change did not increase by a penny. I worked for a year, but the promised salary increase did not happen. I also felt that there was no future in the job. Later, due to some family reasons, I became very depressed. I did not do my job well. My boss talked to me every now and then. I could not bear it, so I quit again. After a few months, I found a new job to work on embedded board solutions. I have just started working and I am not very clear about how to do the job. This time, my previous and later work experiences did not match each other. My salary only increased by 1,000. I felt very uncomfortable in the environment of the new company. I was not sure if I could continue this job. I realized it too late. I wasted so many years. Whether it was income or life, I was far behind my classmates who were once on the same level. I was nervous when I met with classmates or went out to play, for fear that others would find out about my downfall, as if the whole world was laughing at me.

Come on, keep calm and don't dwell on the gains and losses of the moment. There is still a long way to go in life, just focus on improving yourself.   Details Published on 2022-9-15 14:17

Difficulties are always temporary. Often, things may go well for a period of time, but you will encounter various problems after a while.

First, find the direction of your career. Four years of work is not a long time. Then find a company you like, find a way to get in, and then study hard.

I always remember a saying: as long as you are willing to learn, it is never too late.

So as long as you find the direction, it’s not too late even if you are in your thirties!

Comparing yourself to others will only make you angry, so don't compare yourself or care about your classmates. Just work hard to improve yourself first.

Everyone has different backgrounds and opportunities. When you are in school, it is relatively fair because you only look at your grades. But when you enter society, it is different. Don't pay too much attention to comparing yourself with others. If you really want to compare, compare yourself with yourself.

Don't be discouraged, keep your direction clear. Four years is only a short time, and it takes a process to get into the state. Besides, the market conditions are not very good now.

We must hold on and clearly see the direction of industry development. Now the X86 and Android systems are moving towards the mainstream.

For newcomers in the workplace, experience is not important. The key is to find a company that suits you and then settle down to accumulate experience. If it is not suitable for you, leave early and you will have more opportunities. Don't care about salary. The more you care, the more opportunities you will lose. What you should care about is whether it is suitable for you and whether there is an opportunity to learn and grow.

Career development planning is the unification of the long-term interests of enterprises and employees. Every enterprise with a high sense of responsibility has the obligation to point out the career development direction for its employees.
