[2022 Digi-Key Innovation Design Competition] Unboxing materials: First experience with memory cards [Copy link]

I placed an order before the deadline, including an SD card and a Raspberry Pi. The shipment was double shipment. The SD card is in stock in China and has been received. The Raspberry Pi was shipped from the United States, but has not been received yet. I can't wait to post a post to show it off.

This time the SD card information is as follows

The courier was SF Express, and after unpacking, the following was presented, including invoice, documents, SD card, etc.

After opening it, these are the main ones, with a card reader.

Here is a close-up of the SD card. You can see that it is 32G, class10, U1, and MADE IN TAIWAN. The card reader has the model number DM CR015.

To explain briefly, class is the level, class10 is generally 10MB/s. The U logo refers to UHS, the abbreviation of Ultra High Speed, U1 has a minimum write speed of 10MB/s, and U3 has a minimum write speed of 30MB/s;

Put the SD card into the card reader, then plug it into the USB port of the laptop, take out the ancestral speed test software, and get the following results: 18.392MB/s for reading and 8.815MB/s for writing, which is almost the level of class 10.

The small notebook comes with a small SD card slot that can be directly inserted. I thought the speed would be faster, but after testing the speed, I found that it was slower than the USB card reader.

The entire sharing has ended. Finally, I would like to thank Digi-Key Electronics for giving me this opportunity. I will continue to update in the future.

The price difference between the two cards should be quite large. If the data exchange is not large, the impact may not be very big.   Details Published on 2022-7-29 11:45

He is using this on a Raspberry Pi, so it is best to use a high-speed card.  Details Published on 2022-7-20 13:43

Yes, everything on the Raspberry Pi is on the card, and there will be obvious lag at low speed, so it is better to use high speed, but I will just use it. Looking forward to new works
