If it requires a large external DC power supply, I won’t do it; I also bought a large heating table, but it was too big and too high. It was very inconvenient to adjust the position of the device, so I wanted to make a heating table that was only 2.5cm thick.   Details Published on 2021-10-14 10:23

Go ahead and do it. You have your characteristics and he has his characteristics. What are you afraid of?

Pretty cool, really put in a lot of effort

Type-C port, gyroscope, fast charging, LCD display
6 versions of motherboard proofing,
3 sets of shell proofing
3 failed semi-finished products
8 sample brackets

DIY is meant to be done for yourself, not for product development for sale. Whether others have made it or even whether it is available on the market has nothing to do with DIY.

At present, the heating tables made of aluminum substrates have obvious defects: 1. They mainly require expensive high-power DC power supply -> AC power can be used for direct power supply after rectification; 2. The heat insulation of the aluminum substrate is not done well, and it is difficult to operate if it is too high -> It can be made thinner and controlled below 2.5CM 3. The control interface is not good enough  Details Published on 2021-9-26 11:52

At present, the heating tables made of aluminum substrates have obvious defects:

1. Mainly requires expensive high-power DC power supply-> can be directly powered by AC power after rectification;

2. The thermal insulation of the aluminum substrate is not done well, and it is too high to operate -> It can be made thinner and controlled below 2.5CM

3. The control interface is not easy to use. -> The following operation interface can be improved to add more usage scenarios, such as using it as a small incubator, yogurt fermentation hot bed...

The alternating current is rectified, and a single-chip microcomputer or ESP8266 is added to use a high-power MOS to directly control the heating table. The volume can be made smallest. Is there any interest in organizing an open source project in the forum?  Details Published on 2021-9-26 14:37

This finished product can be mass-produced, but it needs to be used with a fast charging charger, otherwise the power won't be enough.

Without a boost chip, it should only work at a voltage of around 20V.  Details Published on 2021-9-26 19:37

If the charger you are using does not support fast charging, the common output power is only 10W. Even if you add a boost circuit, the power will not meet the requirements. It is estimated that the temperature will drop rapidly once it is placed on the soldering pad, making it difficult to use.  Details Published on 2021-9-27 09:43

Safety is the most important thing for this kind of thing. I do have a 220V PTC heating table, which I used twice and felt good. But it is insulated, and I still feel it is unsafe. Your aluminum substrate, 220V is used, if there is leakage, it will be a personal accident! I have made my own aluminum substrate, and I will do temperature measurement when I have time, and I plan to use MAX6675, but I found that the detection is too slow, and the temperature control effect is probably not good. It is estimated that 20V10A or 12V20A DC power supply is a headache. Server power supply is an idea.
