Seeking advice on work [Copy link]

As a student majoring in electronics, I am average in professional courses. I can understand analog and digital electronics in class but cannot solve problems. Now I am working, and I feel that I lack too much. I want to make up for it, but it is like a tattered spider web. I have to make up for it everywhere, but I don’t know where to start. I hope you can give me some suggestions. Thank you.

Find your career direction, analog circuit direction or single-chip microcomputer direction. If you don't have a good foundation in analog electronics, I suggest you go for single-chip microcomputer direction. I am currently working on single-chip microcomputer software, which does not require high requirements for analog circuits and has little to do with digital electronics. I think it is more suitable for you.

It depends on your job. For example, if you work on hardware, you may need to learn basic knowledge such as analog electronics and electronic circuits first. If you work on software, you may need to learn digital electronics first. Different jobs and different directions have different focuses.

Are you good at software? Hardware? Or both? I think you should learn by project. For example, you can learn what is used in the project and use it while learning.  Details Published on 2021-5-18 11:19

As for hardware, I don’t have many projects now, and I’m still doing auxiliary work. I was given a project before, and I can make the circuit diagram based on previous references, but I can’t select the components.  Details Published on 2021-5-18 11:22

So I asked someone in my company, and he sometimes said that books are for literacy or something like that, which makes me wonder how to get a solid foundation now.  Details Published on 2021-5-18 11:56

You have to keep learning when you are doing technology. First, learn what you need first. If you can't do it, you can change your career.

Make up for it according to the relevant content in your work. There is no difference between making up too much and not making up at all. It is also a waste of time. Next time you change jobs, you may have to make up again.

It is recommended to first learn the most basic knowledge, that is, the basic principles and application circuits of transistors. You don't need to be proficient, but you have to know it, and then focus on the relevant knowledge you need to understand at work.

I can still understand the circuit, but when it comes to designing a circuit, I don't know where to start with the RC value and so on.  Details Published on 2021-5-19 15:37

This is a very troublesome thing. You need to do a good job of positioning yourself first. You can try various positions right after graduation, and then specialize in the one you think is suitable for you. It will be difficult to be good at both soft and hard positions.

That is the "relevant knowledge that needs to be understood in work" mentioned earlier. You can learn whatever you encounter, but the premise is that the basics must be passed, otherwise you will not be able to learn or even don't know what to learn. In addition, "circuit circuits can still be roughly understood", before you really understand it, the detailed design of calculations is basically useless.  Details Published on 2021-5-19 16:13

Before you really understand it, there is no way to talk about the detailed design of calculations, so it is better to understand it first and then talk about other things. To understand is to really understand, not roughly.

For example, when it comes to analog and digital electronics, I know the functions of the MOS tube, but I don't quite understand level shift, as well as the selection of resistor values. I feel like I'm learning it in a rigid way and can't apply it flexibly.  Details Published on 2021-5-19 16:19

That’s because you still don’t understand it essentially. Understanding starts with learning to analyze.  Details Published on 2021-5-19 16:26
