What should I do if my phone screen is broken? [Copy link]

I went to the Water Great Wall on the weekend. As soon as I entered the door, I lost my grip and the screen of my phone broke into pieces. The top, bottom and middle were all broken. Fortunately, the touch function still worked.

What shocked me more was that although the baby was very anxious, I was extremely calm. I really tried not to cry over spilled milk.

I had a lot of fun on the way. After I came back, I thought, I can't just leave the screen like that, if I'm watching a TV show in bed and a glass shard falls off, it won't be good. I decided to send it to be repaired.

I found the official Honor store. The screen cost 450, and the labor cost 80. At this point, I suddenly felt uneasy. I spent a month's worth of food money on a drop. Oh. Then I looked for Geek Repair and Lightning Repair. The prices were similar, so I gritted my teeth and had it fixed at the official store. I'm still nervous now.

After hearing this, my colleague said it would be better to replace it with a new one, but a new one would cost thousands of dollars, which was even more of a loss.

If it were you, what would you do?

If you have good DIY skills, you can buy the screen and repair it yourself.

Find out how much the new phone you want to buy sells for, then subtract 450 from that. If the price is acceptable, buy a new one. If you think the price is not worth it, replace the screen.

If the screen is broken, you should fix it as soon as possible. I saw a news report a few days ago that a glass pierced into a finger. It's scary.

I have had my iPhone 7P repaired twice. I bought the screen from Taobao and replaced it myself.

Some people say that tempered glass film is useful. Although it affects some experience, the protection is effective.

The blasting film is more effective. The ordinary tempered glass will still break.

Wrong, it is explosion-proof film.

Tempered glass is still useful. Once my phone fell from a height of 1 meter and the tempered glass cracked, but the screen was fine.

It depends on the price of the phone. If it won’t cost much more to buy a new one, you’ll definitely buy a new one. The old one is slow and difficult to use.

I had fallen many times before and was fine, but this time I fell on the uneven stone ground and I couldn’t stand it anymore.

The most important thing is to hold it steady, so drink some wolfberry in water.

Whether to change the phone or the screen, in my opinion, it is determined by the price of the phone. I don't "talk about feelings" about any brand, I only care about the price-performance ratio, and never buy phones with inflated prices. Under this premise, if you encounter a broken screen (fortunately not yet), just change the phone. If you want to replace the screen, there is only one situation, the screen is cheap enough, then replace it yourself. As an electronic engineer, the operation of replacing the screen by yourself should be a piece of cake.

Also, please note that some "broken screens" are just shattered protective glass. It doesn't cost much and is very simple to repair it yourself. Sending a screen for repair often requires a "screen replacement", which can be considered a fraud.

I just buy three or five tempered films online at a time as consumables. They are still useful for minor falls. Basically, I have to replace the tempered film every one or two months. The screen itself is intact.

If it costs 500 to replace the screen and the phone is more than a year old, I will just replace the phone.

Tempered glass breaks very quickly. I didn't know there was explosion-proof glass at the time, and I had to change it every month. Later, when I went to apply the glass, the person who applied the glass told me to apply an explosion-proof glass, which is suitable for me. A conscientious seller applied it in 2019, and I don't know how many times it has been dropped. There is no crack on the screen, just a few small scratches.
