[MM32 eMiniBoard Review] Using MM32-LINK under IAR [Copy link]

The eMiniBoard integrates the MM32-LINK emulator. Normally, after installing the corresponding support package, you can find the MM32-LINK option in the MDK project settings.

However, unlike MDK, the configuration under IAR is relatively troublesome. I couldn't find the corresponding instructions on the official website. Later, I found the corresponding solution through the Internet.

To use MM32-LINK under IAR, you must install mm32_devkit_setup_v1_60_21a.zip in addition to mm32_iar_ewarm_pack_ver1.49.zip

The version numbers may be different in different periods. The latest version can be downloaded from the MM32 official website

After installing mm32_devkit_setup_v1_60_21a.zip, you can find the armmm32link.dll file in the corresponding directory of IAR

Different IAR versions have different corresponding paths

Find Debugger in IAR project settings, and select Third-Party Driver under Driver

Then select Third-Party Driver and enter the path to the corresponding dll under IAR debugger driver plugin

After setting up, click OK. After completing the configuration, you can use MM32-LINK to simulate the chip on the board just like using other emulators.

I used IAR before, but recently I've been using MDK, and I've forgotten how to use IAR. But people say IAR is better than MDK, I don't know why.

IAR is an embedded expert, and MDK is an ARM expert. Embedded includes ARM, so IAR understands the needs of embedded better. There is no reason, IAR is just more comfortable to use than MDK and has richer functions.
