      As the number of connected applications grows rapidly, the need to handle multiple functions while reducing power consumption emerges. There are multiple communication protocols available with different characteristics, such as wired, wireless, low-power and long-range connectivity. The range of connected applications is very wide, from reading remote sensors and sending data to the cloud to supporting remote bootloaders to update functions and software. Microchip\'s 8-bit PIC? microcontrollers provide a set of core-independent peripherals (CIPs) that can handle multiple functions without relying on the core, thereby achieving low power consumption. Integrated analog, digital and communication peripherals can perform functions autonomously, and can change system performance based on feedback or other application requirements. Multiple on-chip communication peripherals can be used with external modules to support Ethernet, Wi-Fi?, Bluetooth? and long-range communications (such as LoRa?). The IoT sensor card based on the 20-pin PIC16F18345 demonstrates this concept by interfacing with multiple sensors, an audible buzzer, communication modules and RGB LEDs to perform various application functions, including communication with a smartphone application through a Bluetooth LE module.

      LoRa, a wide-area narrowband communication protocol for the Internet of Things, is a reference code; LoRa is a technology dedicated to radio modulation and demodulation released by Semech. It competes with other modulation schemes such as FSK (frequency shift keying), GMSK (Gaussian minimum shift keying), BPSK (binary phase shift keying) and their derivatives. LoRa combines digital spread spectrum, digital signal processing and forward error correction coding technology, and has unprecedented performance. Previously, only high-level industrial radio communications would integrate these technologies, but with the introduction of LoRa, the situation in the field of embedded wireless communications has changed completely. Forward error correction coding technology adds some redundant information to the data sequence to be transmitted, so that the erroneous code elements injected during the data transmission process will be corrected in time at the receiving end. This technology reduces the need to create \"self-repairing\" data packets for retransmission in the past, and performs well in solving the problem of sudden bit errors caused by multipath fading.
