What is Linux? Why did Huawei develop Hongmeng system based on Linux?

In response to the Sino-US trade friction, after Google was forced to "cut off supply" by Pari, Huawei's Hongmeng system instantly attracted the public's attention and was highly sought after. It is said that the Hongmeng system has opened up terminal devices such as tablets, mobile phones, and cars. It is really amazing. But I also heard that the Hongmeng operating system is developed based on Linux. Why is this? What is Linux? Today, I will popularize science.

What is Linux?

The Linux system is an open source system second only to the Windows system , and has a wider range of applications than the Windows system. From aerospace to military, from scientific research to finance, from mobile phones to computers, you can see Linux anywhere an operating system is needed.

In fact, Linux is not a real system. It is just a system kernel with tens of thousands of lines of code . The initial version can only run on the Minix operating system and cannot run completely independently. This situation changed after the second version was updated and it can run directly on specified types of computers.

What is the system kernel?

Perhaps many people still don't know that, in fact, the system kernel is not a complete system, but just a workbench that can be used to build a complete system, including various user interfaces and utilities. Developers use these tools to add various functions to the kernel, and finally it can become a real system. Therefore, Linux has a very high degree of autonomy, and its final shape depends entirely on the requirements of developers, so it can be used in such a wide range of fields.

Interestingly, Linus's purpose in writing Linux was actually very simple. At that time, he wanted to use a kernel called MINIX, but because this kernel was only for educational use and could not be used for commercial purposes, and the price of the commercial version was too expensive, so Linus had no choice but to write a new kernel himself. Unexpectedly, this kernel would develop into the only one that could threaten the status of Windows in the future.

How powerful is Linux?

You just need to know that domestic operating systems, mobile phone systems, military systems, etc. are basically developed based on the Linux kernel. Not only China, but major countries in the world have gradually begun to use systems developed based on the Linux kernel in government departments, such as France and Germany, who are also gradually replacing their own systems with Linux in order to get rid of the possible monitoring backdoors in Windows.

Some people may be curious, does Linux have no backdoors? Yes, if you mean the Linux kernel itself, there is no backdoor at all, because Linux is not a system kernel built by a group of programmers, but a system kernel developed by programmers all over the world. Programmers submit their suggestions for kernel improvements to Linus' team, and the team will review and test the source code. After multiple inspections, the passed code will be added to the Linux kernel in the next version update to add new functions or optimize operating efficiency.

Conclusion : Linux is actually a system kernel jointly developed by programmers. It has very strong adaptability and security, and is completely free. Many of the source codes are provided by Chinese programmers. Linux does not belong to any one person, but to all mankind. If we have to add a belonging, it is the earth. Therefore, Huawei Hongmeng is developed based on Linux, which completely achieves the goal of having a sword in hand and not being controlled by others!

I heard that Hongmeng is based on a microkernel structure, which seems to be similar to Google's new operating system Fuchsia. Where did the OP hear that it is based on the Linux system? And the Linux system is not a microkernel. It is a single kernel structure. And Android only uses the core part of Linux, so it is not considered a Linux system. The most obvious thing is that programs on Linux cannot run on Android.   Details Published on 2020-2-28 11:48
