MSP430F248TPMR Texas TI ultra-low power microcontroller package LQFP [Copy link]

The Texas Instruments (TI) MSP430 family of ultra-low-power microcontrollers includes several devices featuring different peripheral sets for a variety of applications. This architecture, combined with five low-power modes, is optimized for extending battery life in portable measurement applications. The device features a powerful 16-bit RISC CPU, 16-bit registers, and constant generators that help maximize coding efficiency. The digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) can wake up from low-power mode to run mode in less than 1s.
The MSP430F23x/24x(1)/2410 family of microcontrollers features two built-in 16-bit timers, a fast 12-bit analog-to-digital (A/D) converter (not available on the MSP430F24x1), a comparator, four (two on the MSP430F23x) Universal Serial Communication Interface (USCI) modules, and up to 48 I/O pins. The MSP430F24x1 devices are identical to the MSP430F24x devices except that the ADC12 module is not implemented. The MSP430F23x devices are identical to the MSP430F24x devices except that a reduced Timer_B, a USCI module, and less RAM are integrated.
Typical applications include sensor systems, industrial control applications, handheld instruments, etc.

Operation Modes
The MSP430 has an active mode and five software-selectable low-power modes of operation. An interrupt event can wake the device from any of the five low-power modes
, process the request, and resume the low-power mode upon a return signal from the interrupt routine.
The following six modes of operation are configurable by software:
Active Mode (AM)MSP430F248TPMR Texas TI FAE:13723714318
– All clocks are active.
Low Power Mode 0 (LPM0)
– CPU is disabled.
– ACLK and SMCLK remain active. MCLK is disabled.
Low Power Mode 1 (LPM1)
– CPU is disabled. ACLK and SMCLK remain active. MCLK is disabled.
– If DCO is not used in active mode, DCO dc generator is disabled.
Low Power Mode 2 (LPM2)
– CPU is disabled.
– MCLK and SMCLK are disabled.
– DCO dc generator remains enabled.
– ACLK remains active.
Low Power Mode 3 (LPM3)
– CPU is disabled.
– MCLK and SMCLK are disabled.
– DCO dc generator is disabled.
– ACLK remains active.
Low Power Mode 4 (LPM4)
– CPU is disabled.
– ACLK is disabled.
– MCLK and SMCLK are disabled.
– DCO dc generator is disabled.
– Crystal oscillator is stopped.
