Common signal integrity testing methods and their application in design
Signal integrity design is gaining more and more attention in product development, and there are many kinds of signal integrity testing methods, including frequency domain, time domain, and some comprehensive methods, such as bit error testing. These methods are not suitable for use in all situations, and they all have limitations. Proper selection can achieve twice the result with half the effort and avoid detours. This article introduces various testing methods, and explains how to select them in combination with actual hardware development activities. Finally, a test example is given. There are many ways to test signal integrity, and many instruments are involved. Therefore, being familiar with the characteristics of various testing methods and selecting appropriate testing methods based on the characteristics and requirements of the test object can greatly improve the efficiency of hardware development activities such as selecting solutions, verifying results, and solving problems, and achieve twice the result with half the effort.
