Introduction to TI's op amp product classification, making your product design and selection no longer a problem[Copy link]
The operational amplifiers launched by TI can be divided into three categories: Bipolar, BiFET and CMOS. Understanding the main characteristics of each type of device can help users choose the most suitable chip for different applications. CMOS operational amplifiers usually have the characteristics of low voltage, low power and Rail to rail, and their operating voltage does not exceed 16V. Bipolar operational amplifiers have high precision, low noise and high speed, but high power consumption. BiFET is a bipolar device with JFET input stage, which has large input resistance, low noise current, high speed, and usually requires dual power supply. 1. General-purpose - The parameters of the TL series general-purpose operational amplifiers are set according to common industrial uses. The performance in all aspects is poor or medium, and the price is low. Its typical representatives are industrial standard products μA741, LM358, OP07, LM324, LF412, etc. 2. Precision op amps require good accuracy, especially strict requirements on parameters such as input offset voltage VOS, input bias current IB, temperature drift coefficient, common mode rejection ratio CMRR, etc. For example, VOS is not greater than 1mV, and the VOS of high-precision op amps is only tens of μV, which is often used in occasions that require precise measurement. Its typical models include TLC4051/4052, TLE2027/2037, TLE2022, TLC2201, TLC2254, etc. 3. Low-noise op amps belong to precision op amps, which require low noise generated by the device, that is, the equivalent input noise voltage density Vn ≤15nV/Hz, and the current noise density In needs to be considered, which is related to the input bias current. Bipolar op amps usually have lower voltage noise, but higher current noise, while CMOS op amps have higher voltage noise but lower current noise. The models of low noise op amps include TLE2027/2037, TLE2227/2237, TLC2201, TLV2362/2262, etc. 4. High-speed op amps TLE series require the op amp to run fast, that is, the gain bandwidth product is large and the conversion rate is fast. It is usually used to process signals with wide bandwidth and fast change speed. Bipolar op amps and op amps with JFET input stage usually have higher running speed. Typical models include TLE2037/2237, TLV236, TLE2141/2142/2144, TLE2071/72/74, TLC4501, etc. 5. Low voltage and low power op amps TLV series are used for systems with low voltage power supply such as 3V power supply voltage or battery-powered systems. The device is required to consume low power (500 μA), operate at low voltage (3V), preferably have Rail-to-rail performance, and expand dynamic range. The main models are TLV2211, TLV2262, TLV2264, TLE2021, TLC2254, TLV2442, TLV2341, etc. 6. Single-power op amp Single-power op amp requires a single voltage (typical voltage is 5V) power supply, and the voltage at its input and output can be as low as 0V. Most single-power op amps are manufactured using CMOS technology. Single-power op amps can also be used in circuits powered by symmetrical power supplies as long as the total voltage does not exceed the allowable range. In addition, the output stage of some single-power op amps is not a push-pull circuit structure, and when the signal crosses the midpoint voltage of the power supply, crossover distortion will occur.
