Compensation of unbalanced and nonlinear loads by active filter on the DC side of inverter

Abstract: An inverter DC side active filter system is introduced. This system is effective in eliminating pulsating currents at the inverter input terminals caused by unbalanced and nonlinear loads. For three-phase four-wire inverters, the zero-sequence current in the neutral line is also eliminated. This system has the characteristics of fast response speed and high efficiency. In the case of high unbalanced or nonlinear loads, excessive capacitance kVA is not required. Analysis, simulation and experiments show that this DC side active filter system is effective.
