Design and Implementation of Real-time Simulation System Based on xPC and CVI

Aiming at the problem that the real-time simulation system developed under the xPC platform depends on the MATLAB environment, which affects its promotion and application in engineering practice, a real-time simulation system design method based on xPC Target and LabWindows/CVI is proposed. The simulation system designed by this method realizes an independent host program, and the console simulation software is developed by using the LabWindows/CVI virtual instrument technology. The simulation verification shows that the system has the real-time simulation capability of simulation step length of 1 ms, data communication cycle of 20 ms, and display update cycle of 20 ms. The simulation system has a friendly interface and is easy to operate, which provides a useful reference for the application of real-time simulation system under the xPC platform in engineering practice.
