MT6903 is a dual-mode audio power amplifier that implements Class D and Class AB on a single chip. The user can switch the working mode independently through the chip pins. In Class D working mode, it has 3W output power (4-Ω speaker) and no output filtering. In Class AB working mode, it has 2.2W output power. The total harmonic distortion is less than 0.07%, the signal-to-noise ratio is high (90dB), and the efficiency is up to 90%. The unique design can effectively reduce EMI interference and suppress the pop noise when starting. The Class D/AB dual-mode working mode of MT6903 is particularly suitable for plug-in speakers or other media players with FM radio functions. When playing music, the Class D working mode greatly reduces power consumption, avoids chip heating and prolongs the playing time. In FM radio mode, it switches to Class AB working mode to avoid interference with the radio effect. The extremely low quiescent current and shutdown mode current of MT6903 are very suitable for audio amplification applications in battery-powered systems. MT6903 adjusts the system gain and thus the volume through an external input resistor.
