This paper introduces a diesel engine measurement and control system based on virtual instrument technology, which is composed of NI's DAQ card, SCXI signal conditioning module and PC. Through LabVIEW programming, the user interface is displayed intuitively on the monitor, which is convenient for debugging. The system has been applied to the steady-state performance test of diesel engines fueled by diesel and 16 kinds of vegetable oils. The operation is good, and the errors of various measurement parameters are compared with the standards of the engine test chart, which all meet the requirements.
