Sensor Applications in Automobiles [Copy link]

Sensors are considered one of the three pillars of modern information technology and are also high-tech technologies that developed countries are competing to develop. With the development of science and technology, sensors are developing in the direction of miniaturization, multi-function and intelligence. , The widespread application of sensors is driving the rapid development of the automotive industry, including unmanned driving, at an astonishing speed.
The Chinese sensor market has continued to grow in recent years. The four major areas of sensor application are industrial and automotive electronics, communication electronics, and consumer electronics equipment. Among them, the sensor market share in the industrial and automotive electronics fields is about 42%. However, more than 90% of the global automotive sensor market is still occupied by leading sensor companies in developed countries such as the United States, Germany, and Japan. Most domestic companies can only make some low-end products such as water temperature and pressure sensors. It is well known that "the development of automotive intelligence and electrification is inseparable from sensors. "Without sensor technology, there would be no modern automobiles, which means that the more developed the automobile electronics and the higher the degree of automation, the greater the dependence on sensors. It is reported that automobile sensors, as the information source of automobile electronic control systems, are key components of automobile electronic control systems and one of the core contents of research in the field of automobile electronic technology. Automobile sensors measure and control various information such as temperature, pressure, position, speed, acceleration and vibration in real time and accurately. The key to measuring the level of control systems of modern high-end cars lies in the number and level of their sensors. An ordinary family car is equipped with about dozens of sensors, while the number of sensors on luxury cars is as high as hundreds. There is no doubt that the number of sensors on cars will increase exponentially in the future.
As the world's largest automobile market, China is a fertile ground for the development of sensors. In recent years, the market capacity has expanded dramatically. Experts agree that the Chinese sensor market is entering a period of vigorous development. But unfortunately, the current domestic sensor industry is very "hollowed out", which is mainly reflected in two aspects: first, the internal chip technology of the sensor is in the hands of foreign capital, and second, this core component is weak or even missing in the overall automotive industry chain in my country.
Compared with foreign sensor industries, China's automotive sensors have not yet formed an independent industry. The domestic sensor market demand is over 100 trillion yuan, and the annual import amount is no less than 170 billion yuan. For example, some high-tech products such as nitrogen oxide sensors that must be used in exhaust gas treatment in the National V and National VI emission stages are still completely dependent on imports. Compared with the United States, Germany, Japan and other countries, my country's automotive sensor technology has a late start, small scale, low level, uneven development, lack of key technologies and materials, difficulty in supporting, and low sales. Due to the high cost and other problems, it only occupies a certain share in the low-end market with low technical content and low added value, such as temperature sensors and flow sensors. Faced with the current major development opportunities, the Chinese government should focus on the development of MEMS automotive sensors, give full play to the role of existing policies, and promote close cooperation between sensors, electronic systems and automobile manufacturers. Enterprises should adhere to technological innovation and take a systematic development path. Next, the editor of Gongcai.com will talk about the applications of sensors in automobiles.
Application of sensors in automobiles
Temperature sensor : Temperature sensor that detects the temperature inside the car, the temperature outside the car, the temperature of the water tank, the temperature of the engine and the temperature of the exhaust pipe.

Pressure sensor:Detects the pressure of the brake hydraulic system and the lubricating oil system

Flow sensor: The air flow sensor is a sensor that measures the air flow rate sucked into the engine. Electronically controlled gasoline injection engines are designed to obtain the best concentration of mixed gas under various operating conditions. Ultrasonic sensors: Used for close-range detection, with a detection range of 3 to 6 feet from the vehicle. This type of radar is used in common driving scenarios to detect whether there are other vehicles in front of the driverless car. Ultrasonic sensors are used to assist in parking, because the car needs to know the location of nearby vehicles when parking. Ultrasonic sensors can also assist in lane changes. When changing lanes, the sensor can detect vehicles in the visual blind spot.

As for gas, I actually think cars should be equipped with carbon monoxide (CO) sensors. Incomplete combustion can cause excessive concentrations in the car, which can cause personal injury.  Details Published on 2018-3-16 10:13
