Programmers who were fired or even sacrificed for changing the code [Copy link]

I believe that everyone is no longer new to the phrase "killing a programmer to sacrifice to the heavens". Whether it is killing a programmer or killing a product manager, they just think it's humorous. However, I have been thinking about a question: Have you ever tried or heard of a programmer being fired for changing the company code randomly - or the so-called "killing to sacrifice to the heavens" story that you can share with us. The so-called "random changes" here do not refer to the kind of malicious and destructive changes. Rather, it means that the programmer goes against the wishes of the leader or management, is stubborn, and may not produce any good results of the counterattack in the end - just like the legend, but makes things a mess, which is a more real state. It's late at night, I may have to take a shower and go to bed. I hope to hear your story. Later, I will share my story with you, and why I am so cowardly and think of such a problem.

The code in the development stage can be modified at will, you can play with it however you want, but once it is controlled, it cannot be modified.  Details Published on 2017-12-15 15:18

Even if you really find the problem, eliminate it, and improve the efficiency, it may not end well, because your strength makes them lose face and they become resentful of you.

A real programmer doesn’t care whether you are a leader or not. If he is unhappy with the code, he will complain. Of course, such people will be regarded as outliers, and those who have made achievements will be called "weirdos". This is how it is portrayed in movies, and it should exist in reality!

The leader only cares about the results. I haven’t seen him care about your code.

You should not modify other people's code without authorization.

I have met programmers with strong personalities, but they eventually left because 1. They did not share their technology and were too closed, I mean the work itself; 2. They did not take the technical solution seriously, changed the interface at will, and did not make it public.

Sure enough, is this the correct way to modify the code? I should have asked this question earlier. Oh, it took five years. Fuck!

Think about why professional software companies need a large number of system analysts? What is the difference between system analysts and programmers?

I have to say that I do have the courage to do so. If I see something I don't like, I must change it. If I see something simple, I must make it more complex. Only in this way will my work become challenging and my life become more exciting

You dare to disobey the boss's words. He will not care about your process, he only wants the result.

I think it is rare to modify the code randomly! There are several reasons: 1. Afraid to read other people's code. Everyone has their own style. Unless it is a very simple and clear code or a very detailed and standard code with comments, it is not easy to read other people's code. Sometimes, even if it is written by yourself, it is not easy to understand the detailed intention of the day when you read it again as time goes by. 2. Most programmers dislike embedding other people's code in their own code. It is better to borrow and rewrite it. 3. One's own code has its own unique encryption method and is not commented. Generally, it is really difficult for another person to read it.

I have seen people who randomly change the interface protocol, just because they think that others' protocol is not as good as theirs, so that the connection cannot be made in the end. They told me only after I asked. I just wanted to curse at them at the scene...
