Really lazy, LM2596 switching voltage regulator is a step-down power management monolithic integrated circuit that can output 3A drive current and has good linear and load regulation characteristics. The fixed output version has 3.3V, 5V, and 12V, and the adjustable version can output various voltages less than 37V.
