Detailed explanation of audio configuration on the Allwinner H616 Walnut Pie development board [Copy link]

 

Headphone port

The Walnut Pie has an onboard 3.5mm audio output port, which has a certain output power and can play sound using headphones or speakers with amplifiers.

View Audio Devices

You can use the following command to view audio information:

aplay -l

Audio playback test

Play the system's own wav audio file test, the audiocodec in the following command is the headphone port device name found in the above command:

Connect headphones or speakers to the audio port and you can hear the sound.

Desktop music player

You can play audio directly using the VLC media player pre-installed with the desktop system.

First, copy the audio file to Walnut Pie via USB or SSH, then right-click and use VLC media to play it :

HDMI Audio

If your HDMI monitor has a speaker function, if you are not sure whether the monitor has a speaker function, you can use a Windows computer to connect it. If you can play audio through audio selection output, it means that the HDMI monitor has an audio function.

This feature requires the system version to be above v2.0.0.

You can directly use the VLC media player pre-installed with the desktop system to play audio. The Walnut Pie system uses the headphone port as the audio output by default. You only need to switch to HDMI in the lower right corner of the navigation bar to achieve global audio switching of players, web pages, etc.
