What kind of transformer is this dry-type rectifier speed regulating transformer? How is it different from an ordinary transformer?

Furthermore, if the transformer capacity is large, the resistance of the primary coil is small, and it is easy to trip the main power switch when power is supplied. How to solve this problem? [Dry type] is relative to [oil immersed]. Large capacity transformers are usually immersed in oil and are called oil immersed transformers. Small capacity transformers are usually not immersed in oil but work in the air, which is called dry type transformers.

As for [speed regulation], I don’t know.
