【Luckfox RV1103 Linux Development Board Review】01 Unboxing + Features Introduction [Copy link]

Preface

I am very grateful to EEWORLD for providing the opportunity to evaluate, and I am also very grateful to be selected by Luckfox for evaluation. The reason why I applied for this development board evaluation is that this development board can not only learn Linux, but also learn AI, which can allow me to better get started in the field of AI, and learn Linux while learning AI. It can be said that it is a development board for learning AI. The following is an unboxing and feature introduction of the LuckFox RV1103 Mini B development board.

1. LuckFox RV1103 Mini B Unboxing

After the express delivery, I received it in two or three days. After unpacking the card, as shown in the picture, it looks quite exquisite.

After opening it, I found that the board is really small, about the size of a coin.

Dimensions as shown in Figure 3

1. Onboard resources

The onboard resources of the LuckFox RV1103 Mini B development board are shown in Figure 4

①USB Type-C port

Can be used for power supply and program burning

②ACT-LED

In the default system, it is used to indicate the system operation status

③USER-LED

④BOOT button

Press when powering on to enter download mode

⑤SLC NAND FLASH

The model is W2501KV, a 3V 128M nand flash from Winbond

⑥CSI camera interface

MIPI CSI 2-lane

⑦Micro SD card holder

⑧RV1103, as shown in the figure, uses RV1103G1 master control

Vision processor SoC with built-in ARM Cortex-A7 core

The board uses Rockchip RV1103 as the CPU. This chip has the following features:

  • Single-core ARM Cortex-A7 32-bit core with integrated NEON and FPU;
  • Built-in Rockchip's self-developed 4th generation NPU, with high computing precision, supports int4, int8, and int16 mixed quantization, of which the int8 computing power is 0.5TOPS and the int4 computing power can reach 1.0TOPS;
  • Built-in self-developed third-generation ISP3.2, supports 4 million pixels, supports HDR, 3NDR, WDR, multi-level noise reduction and other image enhancement and correction algorithms, and supports up to 2 sensor inputs;
  • It has powerful encoding performance and supports intelligent encoding. It can save bitrates according to the scene, saving more than 50% bitrate compared with the conventional CBR mode, making the captured images high-definition, smaller in size, and doubling the storage space. It supports six bit rate control modes (CBR, VBR, FIXQP, AVBR, QPMAP, and CVBR);
  • The built-in RISC-V MCU design supports low-power fast startup, 250ms fast image capture, and simultaneous loading of AI model libraries, enabling face recognition within 1 second.
  • Built-in 16-bit DRAM DDR2 to sustain demanding memory bandwidth;
  • Integrated with built-in POR, audio codec and MAC PHY;
  • The package is QFN88 9mm x 9mm.

2. Schematic Diagram Introduction

  • Main control design

The main control basically leads out all the pins

  • Storage Design

It uses Winbond's 128M flash and is powered by 3.3V.

  • Power Design

The power design uses an everanalog EA3036C power management IC, which is a three-way power management chip for DC 5V power supply or single-cell lithium battery applications. It has a built-in three-way synchronous power adjustment module, provides light-load high-efficiency mode, and built-in compensation circuit to simplify customer design. Independent enable control design can provide flexible power-on timing. EA3036C uses a 20-pin QFN 3mm x 3mm package.

Features are as follows:

  • Input voltage range 2.7V to 5.5V
  • Three-way power conversion, output voltage from 0.6V to input
  • Continuous current per channel 1A (total power of three outputs does not exceed 6W)
  • Constant 1.5MHz switching frequency
  • 100% full duty cycle output
  • Less than 1uA standby current
  • Independent enable control
  • Built-in compensation circuit
  • Cycle-by-cycle current limit protection
  • Short circuit protection
  • Automatic over temperature protection
  • Small 20-pin 3mm x 3mm QFN package

3. Luckfox Pico Model Comparison

Luckfox Pico has 6 models, the comparison is as follows

The parameters are compared as follows:
