Unboxing and review of NUCLEO-F722ZET6 part 4 (the board was burned by me) [Copy link]

To be honest, this should be the first board that died in my hands. The weather was sunny and I was about to debug the parameters of the motor driver. After uploading the results several times, it suddenly went out. Then I touched the board and felt that the chip had no temperature, but there was a place on the St link (the circle in the picture below) that was very, very hot.

The code seems to be fine, because it has run normally for several times. It suddenly stopped working the last time it ran. I don't know what the problem is, and I don't think I can fix it.

There is nothing much in the code, just a PWM output, an OLED driver, an ADC, and a Hall acquisition.

It uses the Hall sensor interface of the timer to collect the speed of the motor, and then compares it with the knob potentiometer signal collected by ADC, and then uses PWM output signal to the electric regulator to control the rotation of the motor, and then uses OLED to display the potentiometer signal and the measured speed.

It's too awful......

If you are sure that there is no human damage, you can apply for after-sales service.

This U3 is an LDO at first glance. If it generates severe heat, then there must be a short circuit in the circuit behind it. The current is too large and causes heat. You can use a multimeter to measure the resistance of the output voltage (usually 3.3V) to the ground, and slowly find out the short circuit problem (if the chip is burned out, replace the chip)

Is it possible that the motor current is fed into the development board through the Hall?

This is impossible. The Hall power supply and the motor drive power supply are separate.  Details Published on 2023-10-28 08:20

Yours is more valuable. Please give your steps in detail to the other party's system engineer. Maybe they can find a reliability bug.

Can I also apply for after-sales service for the boards that are returned for evaluation?

I don’t understand then. If it is a new board, you can apply for another one.  Details Published on 2023-10-28 10:06

I told the management that they have contact with the manufacturer. The management of the jar is great.  Details Published on 2023-10-29 09:26

It burned before, and I couldn't touch it with my hands, it was very hot, and then I replaced the power chip and it was fixed.
