What does this S11 mean? [Copy link]

I would like to ask, just use C in series and L in parallel to make a small circuit board, and then string several boards together through an L-shaped copper bus to make a fixed shape, with outputs at both ends to receive signals.

During the test, the S11 parameters of the output port are tested using a network analyzer.

Aren't S parameters defined for dual-port or multi-port? This is a single-port structure, what does S11 mean?

I think S11 is OK here.

S11 represents the reflection coefficient of port 1 when port 2 is matched

The problem is that this is a ring, and there is no matching. It is meaningless to look at the reflection coefficient.  Details Published on 2023-7-20 08:53

Hot Ximi Show published on 2023-7-19 22:48 I think S11 here can be understood normally. S11 represents the reflection coefficient of port 1 when port 2 is matched

The problem is that this is just a ring , there is no matching, and looking at the reflection coefficient is meaningless.

I digested it, studied it, and asked the moderator if I didn't understand it. I really forgot all the theory. It is said that this is called a reference ring, and there are standard regulations.  Details Published on 2023-7-21 09:03
