[Mini intelligent obstacle avoidance mobile robot] Unboxing [Copy link]

 
 

Robots are very popular now, and they have been applied in many fields, such as automatic sweeping robots, automatic transport robots, etc. Robot technology is bound to be a major trend in the future. The smallest mobile robot on the market is as big as a notebook, because the laser radar needed for map building is at least as big as a mouse. I am very interested in this aspect, and I wonder if there is a very mini mobile robot that can be equipped with a miniature laser radar to achieve intelligent obstacle avoidance function on the desktop?


I also saw a new ST TOF sensor - vl53l5cx in the material list of Digi-Key Electronics Innovation Design Competition. It can be used to obtain 4*4 or 8*8 depth data, which happens to be able to realize a micro laser radar.

So I ordered 6 vl53l5cx within the budget, and added an ESP32-S3-DEVKITC small development board to achieve reading (cou) access (dan).

I received the express at the company that day and forgot to take photos in time, so I just unpacked it.

So there are only the following unboxing pictures.

First of all, the ESP32-S3-DEVKITC small development board. If I use it later, I will probably buy an ESP32-S3 module on TB, after all, it seems to be only more than 10 yuan.

The following is the new vl53l5cx from ST. I bought 6 of them at once. I originally wanted to make a 360-degree laser radar, but I'll see how it goes later.

After looking through the data sheet, it seems that the measurement depth and accuracy are average. However, it is enough to make a desktop mini car.
