The Youth Robotics Technical Level Test is a competition between electricians and their children, right? The Level 5 Test uses ESP32 [Copy link]

First of all, I felt novel when I saw this level test, and then I thought of the kids of engineers in our forum... Then I thought of the ESP32 development environment that was complained by engineers, how can the kids play with it~

The Youth Robotics Technical Level Examination is a social evaluation project for the technical ability level of young people's robots initiated by the China Electronics Society, a unit directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as an independent third party in 2015. It has been recognized and supported by local education authorities and key colleges and universities. The Youth Level Examination is divided into eight levels in total. Level 6 and above are connected with the China Electronics Society's National Electronic Information Professional Technical Qualification Certification (QCEIT) system and enter the electronic information engineer professional title examination sequence recognized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

The third exam was the first to launch the Level 5 exam, using the Chinese chip ESP32 as the main control. Candidates were required to use the ESP32 control board to make a digital tube with adjustable numbers using a knob potentiometer. Candidates were required to use 74HC595 to control the four-digit digital tube to display different numbers.

It sounds like a simple topic.

The choice of ESP32 as the main control chip for the exam is inseparable from its strong comprehensive strength. ESP32 is equipped with an Xtensa 32-bit LX6 dual-core processor with a computing power of up to 600 DMIPS; it has peripheral interfaces such as I2C, I2S, UART, SPI, SDIO, ADC, etc., which can be used to develop rich functional scenarios and expand unlimited possibilities; at the same time, it can also support ultra-low power consumption to meet different power consumption requirements. This time, it was used in the Youth Robot Technology Level Examination, which is an affirmation of Espressif's products. The "China Core" hardware system based on ESP32 provides a more powerful computing platform. The I2C bus, Bluetooth, and Wi- Fi make perception and communication applications richer, further improving the professionalism and applicability of the level examination technology system.

Curious kids, how do you build the ESP32 development environment that sounds unfriendly?

I just saw the 21-22 youth competitions pushed by the education app. There are 36 competitions in total, of which I counted 25 in the science and innovation category. This area is really taken very seriously now, including robotics, technological innovation, intelligent creation, environmental protection, aerospace, etc.

The remaining matches are mainly

There was an essay contest, a painting contest, and a traditional sports contest. That was it. . . .

I saw many amateur classes in programming and robotics near my home, but I didn't study them in depth. But at that time, I thought that in 10 years, programming would be part of general education, just like typing before. When computers first came out, typing was still a profession, and the fee was charged according to the number of jobs. In a few years, typing as a profession would be no longer a profession.  Details Published on 2021-9-8 10:58

When computers first came out, typing was still a profession, and the fee was based on the quantity. After a few years, most people who made typing their profession were eliminated, and the only ones who stayed were god-level typists, the kind of stenographers who could type really fast, and their typing speed was synchronized with the voice.

It's okay for kids to play with it, but it's outrageous to require certification.

I remember there was a certification exam for the Protel draftsman level, which basically involved paying money, doing a few fixed questions, and then getting the certificate.

After finishing it, I still can't produce a picture.

The stenographer has a different set of recording rules and systems, which seem to be different from the general keyboard input.

I saw a program before. Those stenographers have a special set of rules, and their keyboards are indeed different from the ones we use.  Details Published on 2021-9-8 14:31

ESP32 is great!!! We need to use domestically made products.

ESP32 is also used abroad, and there are many ESP32 Arduino program support packages. Jiali Chuang, which makes PCBs, is also used by people abroad. It is a domestic product.  Details Published on 2021-9-18 22:33
