How does AD import the complete content of a DWG file, or how does AD apply copper in a ring-shaped strip area? [Copy link]

Dear technical experts:

Hello!

I recently helped a friend make a board. My friend is in the RF industry, but he wanted to use AltiumDesigner to draw a PCB to produce this high-frequency board. He gave me a DWG file, and the file looked like this: the black areas are copper.

Now I have a few questions to ask you guys:

1. Can DWG files be imported into AD in full layers (100%, 1:1 import), or only the outer contours?

2. How does AD draw this irregular pattern and apply copper inside it? I have searched many methods on the Internet, such as changing the routing rules when applying copper, changing the right angle to a rounded corner, and then increasing the arc, but the accuracy is not enough.

3. Do you guys use other software when you encounter this kind of problem? ? Please recommend some.

4. If you guys have any suitable methods, please feel free to give me some advice. I will be very grateful.

Import outlines (closed shapes) which can then be converted into copper pours

The DWG file given by my friend should be the border file of the outer width and inner shape.

Looking at this picture of a friend, if it is drawn with AD, the accuracy and coordinates of the internal geometry are not easy to draw and control.

The outer frame drawn with DWG includes the internal shape. After importing into AD, it is equivalent to having a boundary. The network table is imported on this boundary, wiring is performed, and finally copper is applied without affecting the copper application.

DWG files are just like lines drawn on the mechanical layer of AD software.

Note the following:

In CAD, you need to check the DWG origin before importing. It is best to set the metric system (mm) for
CAD versions below 2000.

@ Kkk- You are right, you can import outlines (closed shapes) and then convert them into copper. AD cannot import filled shapes.

Then we can see that the outer frame is imported

However, the CAD file we filled in was not imported.

As shown below, the effect diagram of CAD and AD comparison
