When it comes to learning, one should learn first and then ask questions. One cannot substitute asking questions for learning, otherwise the teacher will not be able to bear it.   Details Published on 2021-6-7 08:20

The power consumption depends on how often you send data and the maximum power consumption (distance) of the wireless part.

If the bandwidth is between 100-300m and the data is sent every 10 seconds, 18650 can usually be used for about 6-10 days.

If it sends once a second without sleep mode, it will last less than a day.

If it is over 1 km, once per second, it will only take a few hours.

Excuse me, when you say 100-300m, does it mean 100-300 meters or 100-300mA? And when you say 1Km, does it mean 1K meters or 1K mA?

What you are asking is not the same as how much gas is wasted when you step on the accelerator. These are all statistics taken over a period of time, so how can they be so accurate? Besides, low power consumption is not only related to transmission.

Thank you very much. How does the IoT module installed in the water meter, such as the NB-IOT module, know whether the nearest base station is 100 meters or 1000 meters away? Even if it knows the distance of the nearest base station, how does it control the transmission power? (The transmission power of 100 meters and 1000 meters should be very different.)

Your question is meaningless. There are so many IoT devices that use 3.6V, and the difference can be huge. Without the specific design, such a question is meaningless.

It is impossible to know, we can only know the signal strength. Signal strength can correspond to distance or transmission power, and is also affected by transmission attenuation and interference. Only under certain conditions and excluding other factors can we know the approximate distance from the transmission source based on the strength of the signal.

The control of transmission power depends on software. The software can control the transmission power according to the receiving field strength. This is what mobile phones do.

Use the instruction to read the device manual of the relevant wireless chip.
