RSL10 Smart Shot Camera Platform Evaluation Board [Copy link]

 

The RSL10 Smart Shot Camera is a complete node-to-cloud platform that enables intelligent image capture for portable, low-duty-cycle IoT applications including asset monitoring and security. Based on the RSL10 SIP and ARX3A0 CMOS image sensor, the platform features multiple trigger modes including time, motion detection, and environmental sensor triggers (such as temperature and humidity changes). The
RSL10 SIP acts as the processing center of the camera, connecting Bluetooth Low Energy for captured images and sensor data to the provided mobile app (available on Google Play, iOS).

Using the app, developers can access a variety of features including cloud connectivity, remote configuration of sensors (thresholds and default settings), and changing image capture trigger modes. The app connects to the Image Analytics/AI engine located in the cloud and is able to detect and recognize objects using AI cloud services. The mobile app returns the captured image along with a list of recognized objects and confidence levels.

The platform features the ARX3A0 mono 65° DFOV IAS module, a compact design form factor for developing compact cameras with 360 fps mono imaging based on the ARX3A0 CMOS image sensor. The ARX3A0 has high sensitivity in both visible and near-infrared wavelengths and features an ultra-low power mode that consumes 3.2 mW when operating. In addition, the ARX3A0 can be programmed to monitor specific areas of its field of view and automatically take images when the scene content changes. SunplusIT’s SPCV1100A is embedded in the platform hardware, providing multiple color processing functions and JPEG image compression.

The impressive low-power operation of the RSL10 SIP and ARX3A0 is complemented by a dedicated NCP6925 power management IC (PMIC) (NCP6925) and other intelligent power management modes implemented in hardware. Other devices supporting efficient power management are the FAN54120 USB-compatible linear Li-ion battery charger and the FAN49100 ultra-low Iq buck/boost regulator. With these features, the RSL10 Smart Shot Camera can extend battery life to more than one year.
