Tilt sensing uses the gravity vector and its projection on the accelerometer axes to determine the tilt angle. Since gravity is a DC acceleration, any force that produces additional DC acceleration will corrupt the output signal, resulting in calculation errors. Sources of DC acceleration include vehicles accelerating at a constant rate over a period of time and rotating devices producing centripetal acceleration on the accelerometer.
ADI's sensor portfolio focuses on motion, temperature and sound. Each MEMS accelerometer, gyroscope, inertial measurement unit (IMU), microphone, and all analog or digital temperature sensors integrate industry-leading sensors and sensor signal conditioning technology. ADI's high-performance MEMS and sensor portfolio provides a range of discrete components and plug-and-play solutions to efficiently and reliably meet today's complex application requirements.
