The CC3200 LaunchPad crashed before I even got it warm? [Copy link]

Just now, maybe when debugging with IAR, I unplugged it without turning off the function. When I plugged it in again, IAR could not simulate. When I unplugged the development board and clicked IAR debug, there would be garbled characters as shown below, and no matter what I chose, it would be useless. After setting J15 and using UniFlash to download, it would keep prompting ERROR: ---reading ACK signal failed--- This situation happened when I forgot to install the jumper of J15. This time I made sure it was properly installed. The out of box routine that was flashed in the MCU before doesn't seem to work, and I can't find the WiFi signal.

Hello, the CC3200 board I borrowed from the lab has the same problem as yours. The D7 light is not on, the debug running light prompts 'error connecting target', and when I skip debugging and burn directly, it prompts 'failed to read ACK signal, device cannot be connected', and my D7 is not lit. The board has the same problem on other people's computers. The board that has been debugged on my computer has not been successful, and it cannot be debugged on other computers with no problems with CCS. I am sure that my SOP keycaps, drivers, and CCXML files are configured correctly. What is the reason? I don't visit the web often, so could you please contact my Tencent or Tencent email 1143154163? Thank you  Details Published on 2019-5-19 21:44

The hardware version of this development board is 3.2. When I posted this, I also had a board with hardware version 4.1 that worked well. Then I looked for various solutions on the Internet. After no results, I tried to use jlink to debug the broken board myself. I hoped that the onboard emulator was broken, at least there was still a chip that could be used. I removed all jumpers except the power supply, and then connected the board to the power supply. Then I connected the SWDIO and SWCLK of jlink to J8 and J9 respectively, which correspond to the pins of CC3200 on this side, which are pin19 and pin20 of CC3200. I debugged many times without success, including changing the mode of jlink to SWD in the IAR project and jumping the jumper j15 to SWD mode. Later, I suspected that the chip of this board was broken, so I replaced it with the original board with hardware version 4.1 that worked well, and tested it with the same method without success. The original board that worked well had an out of box routine, D7 will flash after power on or reset. I don't know when I found that D7 is not lit. Then I reset all the jumpers and used the original emulator on the board to simulate and failed (IAR settings have been adjusted back). Then I used UniFlash to flash the original board and the problem was the same as the previous one. So far, I have 2 broken boards, CAO!

If it doesn't work, contact TI after-sales and maybe you can get a new one.  Details Published on 2019-1-5 10:34

The problem now is that if IAR is used for simulation, no matter which computer is used, the Debug Probe Selection will be displayed when the new board is inserted. There are two options, both of which are garbled, and the contents of the garbled codes are slightly different.

This post was last edited by littleshrimp on 2019-1-5 12:32 The R57 of the hardware version 3.2 is 1K. When SOP2 jumps up, the voltage on the line is a few tenths of a volt. When the SOP2 pin is measured with an oscilloscope, when the setting break signal is prompted during the UniFlash download process, there will be a high level jump to high level time of about 210ms

Measure the serial port. During the download process using UniFlash, J7 (FTDI_TX) will have a high level for 2 seconds. Normally, it is a low level. J6 is always at a high level without any change.

I don't know how to change the firmware of the FTDI emulator. I downloaded a few tools from the FTDI website and tried them. One of them became a dual serial port. When selecting COM80 for the dual serial port, it will prompt ERROR: No device USB ports were found

I tried jlink and the XDS110 on the CC2540 LaunchPad. I feel like I have tried everything I can. I officially give up.

Dual serial ports are correct. One can be used while the other cannot. I suggest you change to a different version of IAR or CCS. It should prompt that the firmware does not match. Please update it.
