Advantages of LXI-Based Instrumentation for Physical Measurements


Physical measurements such as temperature, stress, pressure and flow are widely used in industries such as industry and control. The implementation of these physical measurements often faces many problems such as measurement accuracy, scattered measurement locations, and measurement wiring. New instruments based on the LXI standard allow test equipment to be placed at test points and provide simple settings and time trigger mechanisms, which can effectively solve or improve these problems.




Physical measurements are often used in design verification, monitoring and control applications to determine physical parameters such as temperature, strain, pressure and flow. These physical measurements use sensors to convert physical phenomena into voltage, resistance or frequency, and then these electrical signals are tested by some kind of measurement equipment. Some of the challenges associated with these physical measurements include: the accuracy of the measurement, the location of the measurement, the physical connection of the measurement, the setup and execution of the measurement.

Engineers often need to collect and analyze data from multiple locations when collecting data. For example, engineers need to monitor and control the temperature at different locations in a building, and chemical engineers may need to monitor and control the flow of fluids such as gasoline or beverages. These types of measurements generally require long connecting wires to different measurement locations, or measurement equipment installed in different locations. Using long connecting wires is usually very costly and may affect the accuracy of the measurement because external noise interferes with weak electrical signals .
