Please help me choose STM8L151 or STM32L051 [Copy link]

Now I am choosing a CPU, STM8L151 or STM32L051. I need a 12-bit ADC and double-precision floating-point operations. The other functions are very simple. I don't know whether STM8L151 can support double-precision floating-point operations. Otherwise, I have to do it myself in assembly, which is very troublesome. The price difference between the two is not much, for example, 1~2 yuan. I chose STM32L051. I don't know whether STM8L supports double-precision floating points, and I don't know how much the price difference between these two chips is.

Please recommend it to me, thank you!

Rookie.

You can only write the STM8 series by yourself, and the speed depends on your acceptance.

If you want hardware support for double-precision floating-point operations, you must at least choose the STM32F7 series, that is, the Cotex M7 architecture.

From the perspective of power consumption, STM8L should be lower than STM32. If you consider the operation speed, STM32 is better. It is estimated that the ADC peripherals of the two are similar. For details, you need to download the data sheet and carefully read the data of both parties before you can decide. If you want to use their ADC peripherals, the two should be similar. If you want to obtain a high-precision ADC, it is best to use a dedicated ADC operation chip.

If you need double-precision computing, why not consider the faster STM32 series?
