On September 26, Apple's printed circuit board manufacturer Xinxing Electronics issued an announcement stating that because the Suzhou area will stop supplying industrial electricity from 12:00 noon on September 26 to 24:00 on September 30, the company's subsidiaries in Suzhou and Kunshan will temporarily suspend operations until September 30.
Xinxing Electronics stated that during the shutdown period, it will coordinate production at other factories within the group to meet customer shipment needs. It is expected that the 4.5 working days of shutdown will not have any significant impact for the time being.
Yisheng Precision, a major supplier of mechanical parts for Apple and Tesla, also said on September 26: "In response to Kunshan's policy of stopping industrial electricity use, the factory will suspend production from September 26 to October 1."
On September 28, the Red Star Capital Bureau called Dingxin Electronics, one of Xinxing Electronics' production bases in Kunshan, and the relevant staff said: "We have already had a holiday, which will last until September 30, and we will wait for further notice after that."
It is currently the peak shipping period for the iPhone 13 series. Many Apple supply chain factories have stopped production due to "power restrictions". It is still unknown whether this will affect the production of the iPhone 13.
