Following the release of OPPO Watch in March this year, a new member of the OPPO IoT ecosystem is about to be released.

According to the official Weibo, this new acoustic product, which will be released on April 7, should be a smart speaker. Like OPPO Watch, this smart speaker will also be equipped with Breeno voice, and users only need to say "Hey, Breeno" to wake up the speaker for interactive operations.

According to people familiar with the matter, OPPO's smart speaker project was launched as early as 2018. As early as 2016, OPPO Sonica wireless speaker was launched, and its excellent sound quality performance was loved and recognized by a large number of users.

With the advent of 5G commercialization and its gradual popularization, the Internet of Things has become the biggest outlet. IoT Analytics predicts that by 2025, the number of active IoT devices in the world will reach 22 billion. Home, automobile, industry, and city are the four major application scenarios of the Internet of Things in the future. Influenced by the consumer electronics attributes of mobile phones, smartphone manufacturers' layout of the Internet of Things began with home scenarios, represented by Xiaomi, which is "All in IoT".

In addition to mobile phone manufacturers, Internet giants have also been deploying in the field of home IoT for many years. However, unlike mobile phone manufacturers who naturally control the huge traffic entrance of mobile phones, Internet giants usually choose another traffic entrance - smart speakers. The previously launched Xiaodu Genie and Tmall Genie are both on this list. Mobile phone manufacturers have also not given up on the layout of smart speakers. Before OPPO, Xiaomi Xiaoai smart speakers and Huawei Honor YOYO were already on the market.

While Xiaomi has taken the initiative to build its own ecosystem in the field of home IoT, Huawei, OPPO and other manufacturers have chosen to walk on two legs, deploying home IoT on one hand and expanding to automotive IoT on the other. From launching automotive-grade communication module products to launching the 5G Automotive Communication Technology Alliance, to the release of the Hongmeng operating system, Huawei's layout of the Internet of Vehicles has expanded from point to surface, from application modules to underlying systems, and may become another major pillar business of Huawei in the future.

Relatively speaking, OPPO IoT has just started, both in car scenarios and home scenarios. However, OPPO is very likely to adopt an open strategy that is different from Huawei and Xiaomi, that is, first open up the smart home market through cooperation with other manufacturers, accumulate word-of-mouth through the market, and then sink the technology to more self-developed smart terminals. In the case of late development, in order to achieve the effect of "arriving first", OPPO currently focuses on traffic entry-level products. For example, the previously released OPPO Watch is the entrance to the sports and health scene, while the smart speaker can be used as the entrance to the home scene.
