According to a Weibo digital blogger, OPPO is about to launch a new phone, OPPO Reno Z, which is expected to be launched next month. It is reported that OPPO Reno Z will be equipped with MediaTek P90 processor, which is also the world's first launch of P90 processor.
From the appearance point of view, there are not many changes in the appearance of OPPO Reno Z and Reno series, only the camera area on the back has been adjusted.
As MediaTek's new generation SoC, Helio P90 continues TSMC's 12nm process and big and small core architecture. The CPU is composed of 2 Cortex A75 (2.2GHz) and 6 Cortex A55 (2.0GHz). The GPU comes from Imagination's IMG 9XM-HP8 GPU (Powervr gm9446), with a frequency of 970MHz, which is 50% higher than the Mali-G72 MP3 of P60/70.
Helio P90 supports up to 8GB dual-channel LPDDR4X-1866 memory, UFS 2.1 flash memory, and a screen with a maximum resolution of 2520x1080 (21:9). It also supports dual-SIM dual 4G VoLTE, Cat. 12, 4x4 MIMO/3CA, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, etc.
In terms of photography, the Helio P90 supports a maximum of 48 million pixels for a single camera, and 24 million + 16 million pixels for a dual camera, and can shoot 480FPS slow-motion shots. At the same time, it also supports the popular triple-focal length triple camera. For night scenes, it provides an AI-powered multi-frame noise reduction processing system. Its internal three-core ISP supports 14-bit RAW HDR and is the industry's first AI face recognition engine.
In terms of absolute performance, the P90 is still positioned as a mid-range SoC, and its main competitors in the future should be the Snapdragon 710 and 670. However, MediaTek emphasizes that AI performance is the main feature of Helio P90. After upgrading the APU 2.0 computing unit, its AI computing power is further enhanced, four times higher than the previous generation, exceeding 1.1TMACs (1.1 trillion multiplication and accumulation operations), and its power consumption is 50% lower than the previous generation, and the bandwidth requirement is also reduced by 50%.
