Screenless TV Overview

Screenless TV is a TV that can achieve the same signal input picture and sound as TV. The difference between the two lies in the principle of image presentation. Ordinary TV uses LED light to hit the LCD screen to present an image, while screenless TV presents an image by reflecting the light source onto the screen. The advantage of screenless TV is that the screen size can be adjusted and it is easy to move and install. Screenless TV is a type of home TV.

According to the light source and the place of use, it can be divided into laser screenless TV, living room screenless TV and portable screenless TV. Laser screenless TV adopts the principle of ultra-short-throw projection and is equipped with a laser light source. It is mostly used in home living rooms or conference rooms. From a cost perspective, the solution is mostly blue laser + phosphor laser display technology, with a brightness of 3000-4000 lumens; living room screenless TV adopts the principle of ultra-short-throw projection and is equipped with a high-pressure mercury lamp light source. It is mostly used in home living rooms or conference rooms, with a brightness of 2500-4000 lumens; portable screenless TV uses LED light sources, generally long and short focus, and is mostly used in home bedrooms, entertainment rooms and rental houses, with a brightness of 200-800 lumens.

Laser TV Overview

Laser TV is a fourth-generation TV that uses a laser light source and is equipped with a professional anti-glare gain screen. It can watch radio and television programs and on-demand Internet content.

The so-called laser TV is fundamentally different from the laser TVs that were launched earlier. The products called laser TVs today are composed of a laser host + an independent screen. The images are projected onto the screen through the laser host. In fact, from the working principle, the host of the laser TV is a reflective ultra-short-throw projector that uses a laser light source. Laser TVs launched by brands such as Hisense, Changhong, Hualu, Konka, and Xuanmu are such products.

Similarly, since laser TV is also a projector, it is different from a TV. It does not have some of the smart functions and rich content that are configured in a TV. Laser TV is just a display device and requires more external playback devices. To watch TV programs, you can connect it to a set-top box, just connect the HDMI cable to the interface.

The difference between screenless TV and laser TV

What is the difference between screenless TV and laser TV? From the current market perspective, the most significant difference between the two is that the former is an LED projector, which is compact and not very bright, about 1,000 lumens, with a limited projection size and a certain gap in image quality compared to traditional projectors; the latter is a laser ultra-short-throw projector, which is slightly larger in size, has high brightness, and clear and bright image quality. However, since both are projectors, they just use different light sources and lenses, and the projection principles are the same, and there are no clear regulations in the industry, so laser TV can also be called screenless TV, and there are products on the market that call it this way, so be sure to recognize it when purchasing.

In addition, since screenless TVs are all LED projectors, they are more entertainment-oriented. For people who do not have high requirements, they can choose entertainment and watch mobile large-screen theaters. However, due to the low brightness, the so-called products on the market that can project a 300-inch large screen are a bit exaggerated. After all, the resolution is only 1280*800, which is 720P. People who know a little bit know that the picture quality can be imagined. Moreover, the sound quality of the built-in speakers is also average and cannot meet the high requirements of audio-visual effects. The only advantage is that the price is really very cheap, generally below 3,000 yuan.

In contrast, laser TVs are more professional, and they are mainly promoted for living room theaters. Therefore, when designing, the bright light in the living room is taken into consideration. The machine brightness is relatively high, and with a special screen, you can see clear pictures in normal ambient light. In addition, some manufacturers also match high-quality speakers to let users experience the same audio-visual effects as in a theater. However, the price is generally more expensive, all over 10,000 yuan, but compared with 100-inch TVs, it is very cost-effective.
