Passive safety technologies, which were almost exclusively used in the early days, have gradually matured; when accidents are unavoidable, injuries to occupants and pedestrians should be reduced as much as possible. For example, high-strength car bodies, airbags, child seats, and seat belts are all passive safety technologies.

So what is active safety technology? With this question, the editor found experts from the institute.

The expert smiled slightly: "To prevent accidents before they happen, to avoid accidents and reduce the intensity of accidents by prompting the driver with environmental information, active braking and other means is an active safety technology. However, active safety technology is still in the stage of popularization by "flying into the homes of ordinary people" In the current period, many new models have just crossed the "with/without" active safety boundary, and have not yet enhanced their functions and made them easy to use. C-NCAP can be used to determine whether a vehicle's active safety features are useful. "

The full name of C-NCAP is China-New Car Assessment Program.

Some people may say that China Insurance Research Institute’s C-IASI is more stringent. Is it necessary to read C-NCAP? This is a biased perception. The 25% offset crash test of China Insurance Research Institute's C-IASI is indeed difficult, but it is not as comprehensive as C-NCAP. For example, C-NCAP focuses on pedestrian protection, but C-IASI does not; in addition, C-NCAP has far more active safety test items than C-IASI.

If C-IASI is a partial mathematics competition, then C-NCAP is a comprehensive college entrance examination. Especially after the release of the 2021 version of the new regulations, C-NCAP has increased the scoring weight of active safety from 15% to 25%, and the testing has been more comprehensive and stricter! Compared with the 2018 version, the main updates of the 2021 version include:

Added test scenarios for the vehicle automatic emergency braking system (AEB);

Added lane keeping assist system (LKA) test and evaluation methods;

Added review items and technical requirements for Lane Departure Warning System (LDW), Blind Spot Monitoring System (BSD), and Speed Assist System (SAS);

Added vehicle lighting performance testing and evaluation methods.

The scoring system has been modified, and the weight of active safety has been increased from 15% to 25%.

The AEB test scenario of the 2021 version of C-CNAP focuses on one comprehensive scenario!

In addition to the traditional front-vehicle collision scene, pedestrian collision night scenes and new target two-wheeler collision scenes have also been added [4]:

Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB CCR) for the vehicle ahead: It is divided into two scenarios: CCRs, the vehicle in front is stationary and CCRm, the vehicle in front is moving slowly at a constant speed, and the AEB function in the speed range of 20-40km/h and 30-50km/h and 50-80km are tested respectively. /h and FCW alarm function within the speed range of 60-80km/h.

Automatic Emergency Braking for Pedestrians (AEB VRU_Ped): divided into three test scenarios: pedestrians traveling far-end through CPFA, pedestrians traveling near-end CPNA, and pedestrians traveling straight in front of CPLA. Among them, CPFA25 and CPLA are tested in two environments: day and night, which greatly increases the difficulty!

Two-wheeler automatic emergency braking (AEB VRU_TW): This is a new target test, which is divided into test scenarios of bicycles passing through CBNA at the near end, scooters passing through CSFA at the far end, and bicycles traveling longitudinally and straight CBLA.
