Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology responded to Proposal No. 4815 (No. 523 in the Industry, Communications, Post and Telecommunications Category) of the Fourth Session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, stating that it will organize relevant standard research institutions to carry out the formulation of sodium-ion battery standards in a timely manner, and provide support in the stages of standard project establishment and standard approval.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will strengthen its layout in policy documents such as the "14th Five-Year Plan" related plans, starting from multiple aspects such as promoting cutting-edge technology research, improving supporting policies, and exploring market applications, to do a good job in top-level design, improve industrial policies, and coordinate and guide the high-quality development of the sodium-ion battery industry.
The first is a suggestion on incorporating sodium-ion batteries into relevant development plans and key science and technology support plans. Our department will strengthen the layout in the "14th Five-Year Plan" related plans and other policy documents, starting from promoting cutting-edge technology research, improving supporting policies, and exploring market applications. We will do a good job in top-level design, improve industrial policies, and coordinate and guide the high-quality development of the sodium-ion battery industry. The Ministry of Science and Technology will implement the " Energy Storage and Smart Grid Technology" key project during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, and list sodium-ion battery technology as a sub-task to further promote the scale and low cost of sodium-ion batteries and improve their overall performance.
Second, suggestions on promoting the market application of sodium-ion batteries as soon as possible. Relevant departments will support the acceleration of the transformation of innovative achievements in sodium-ion batteries and support the construction of mass production capacity of advanced products. At the same time, the relevant product catalog will be improved in a timely manner according to the progress of industrial development, and the application of sodium-ion batteries with excellent performance and meeting the conditions will be accelerated in new energy power stations, transportation vehicles, communication base stations and other fields; through collaborative innovation between industry, academia and research, the full commercialization of sodium-ion batteries will be promoted.
The third is a suggestion on promoting the establishment of sodium-ion battery standards as soon as possible. Our department will organize relevant standard research institutions to carry out the formulation of sodium-ion battery standards in a timely manner, and provide support in the stages of standard project establishment and standard approval. At the same time, according to national policies and industry trends, combined with relevant standards, we will study the relevant sodium-ion battery industry regulatory policies to guide the healthy and orderly development of the industry.
Fourth, suggestions on supporting sodium-ion battery products or enterprises that enter the market in the early stages. Our department will sort out the energy electronics industry chain and coordinate resources to support the development of new energy storage batteries such as lithium-ion batteries and sodium-ion batteries. Relevant departments will continue to vigorously support scientific and technological innovation in related fields, and mainly use market-oriented means to promote the formation of a more reasonable and efficient business model, and solve common problems faced in the process of industrial development by establishing a benign development mechanism.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that the key task to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality is to implement renewable energy substitution actions, significantly increase the proportion of new energy in the energy structure, and build a new power system with new energy as the main body.
