Lieyun.com learned that recently, domestic magnetic sensor chip startup team Yirui Semiconductor announced the completion of tens of millions of pre-A round of financing. The investors are Licheng Capital and Shenzhen Debi. This round of financing will be used for innovative product research and development investment and new market expansion.

Previously, Yirui Semiconductor had received angel round financing from Shenzhen Debi, Zizhu Xiaomiao and Zhongke Chuangxing in March 2017.

It is understood that Yirui Semiconductor (Shanghai), founded in 2014, mainly develops magnetic sensor chips. As a key link in the perception and control of the system, the application field of magnetic sensor chips is very wide. Subways, high-speed railways, and power systems need to use magnetic sensor chips to detect large currents. The engine, crankshaft, gearbox, BMS, air conditioner, refrigerator, washing machine and motor of the car all need to use magnetic sensors to obtain the speed and position. In addition, in the communication and consumer fields such as 5G micro base stations and electric bicycles, the support of magnetic sensor chips is indispensable.

At present, more than 95% of domestic magnetic sensor chips rely on foreign imports, while high-end magnetic sensor chips are almost blank in China. According to IHS data, the magnetic sensor chip market maintains a sustained growth rate of more than 8% per year, and the total domestic market capacity exceeds 15 billion yuan. According to the data forecast of "Magnetic Sensor Market and Technology-2017 Edition", from 2018 to 2022, the magnetic sensor market will grow at an annual rate of 8%, and the overall market size is expected to reach 2.6 billion US dollars by 2022.

In this context, the research and development, design and market-level application of magnetic sensor chips have become areas of competition for many entrepreneurial teams and investors, and have shown unusually active investment trends in the capital market in recent years.

Yirui Semiconductor currently has more than ten product series, including high-performance locking switch Hall chip CH46X Family, small current locking switch Hall chip: CH42X Family, economical locking switch Hall chip: CH41X Family, high-reliability unipolar switch Hall chip: CH9XX Family, automotive-grade BCD process locking switch Hall chip: CH44XFamily, etc., and has supplied many well-known manufacturers at home and abroad.

According to I-Semi, in terms of performance, I-Semi's initial products began to enter the market in 2016, mainly in the fields of automobiles, industry, robotics and home appliance control. Relying on the excellent product design and quality management of the R&D team, the annual sales growth rate exceeded 50%, and the shipment volume reached hundreds of millions of pieces, establishing a good reputation in the industry.

"Yi Rui Semiconductor" is now operated as a Fabless company. The Shanghai headquarters is responsible for product design and sales. Wafers are produced by overseas FAB factories, and packaging/testing is outsourced to first-class domestic packaging factories. The company's headquarters is located in Shanghai, with an office in Shenzhen, and national agency points cover nearly ten cities including Shanghai, Chengdu, and Beijing.

It is reported that Yirui Semiconductor's monthly chip shipments have reached more than 10 million pieces, and it has occupied more than 30% of the market for magnetic sensor cores on electric bicycle motors, and has continued to penetrate into other magnetic sensor chip application fields, including about 2% of the air-conditioning market, 1% of car shifters, 0.5% of the small appliance market, 0.3% of automotive BMS, 0.1% of communication magnetic sensors, etc.

The total number of Yirui Semiconductor team members is 21, of which the R&D team accounts for 50%. The team has 22 original intellectual property rights. Yin Xiaoping, the founder of Yirui Semiconductor, said that with the development of technology, the trend of the Internet of Everything is unstoppable, and the future will move towards the "sensor + MCU + communication bus" approach. The technical difficulty is increasing, and higher requirements are placed on magnetic sensor chips. As a hard technology innovation company, Yirui Semiconductor will take the revitalization of China's integrated circuit industry as its mission, continue to independently develop high-precision, high-reliability, and high-performance magnetic sensor chips, and steadily climb to the top of the industry.
