August 14, 2023 - Bourns, the United States, a world-renowned leading manufacturing supplier of electronic components for power, protection and sensing solutions, officially launched the latest member of its new generation gas discharge tube (GDT) product line, introducing high voltage Family of bipolar overvoltage protectors. The Bourns® GDT28H series is designed to meet the protection needs of today's general industrial power equipment, while also responding to the urgent need for electrification solutions for growing energy demands, perfectly suited for consumer and commercial use.

With so many electrical and electronic devices on the market required to comply with electrical safety standards such as IEC 62368-1, one of the significant advantages of the GDT28H series is its suitability for AC isolation solutions. This is achieved through a combination of its extended operating voltage range, high insulation resistance and enhanced surge rates. These features provide designers with a space-saving solution while providing the same level of protection as larger components. In addition, the GDT28H series offers a wider operating temperature range, making it ideal for applications under specific harsh conditions.
