TDK Corporation (TSE 6762) announces the launch of the "CN200B110 and CN300B110 Series" 4:1 wide-range input DC-DC module power supplies for the rail transit industry. These products will be available for ordering from February 8, 2021.
The CN-B110 series of DC-DC converters for the rail transit industry with wide input range are available in two power levels: 200W and 300W. There are 8 models to choose from to meet different output voltage and current requirements. The output voltage can be freely adjusted within the rated range through external analog voltage signals or resistance.
The CN-B110 series has a rated input voltage range of 43V – 160V DC, which is compatible with a wide range of input applications in 110V or 72V DC power supply systems. It has built-in self-recovery over-current protection and supports ON/OFF control function.
The CN-B110 series adopts a compact structure design. The power part adopts an aluminum substrate process with excellent thermal conductivity. The power device and the heat dissipation aluminum substrate conduct heat through welding. The extremely low thermal resistance can ensure that the core temperature of the power device still has sufficient margin under harsh environments or large impact load conditions. Its control circuit adopts a double-layer overhead design, and uses an air insulation layer to isolate temperature-sensitive devices such as optocouplers from the power part with higher heat generation, avoiding the heat conduction and accumulation of the power device to the control circuit, which reduces the overall reliability.
In order to meet the trend of high input pressure resistance of the rail transit industry, compared with the previous generation product CN-A110 series, the CN-B110 series DC-DC converter has increased the input pressure resistance index of the chassis from 2kVAC of the previous generation to 2.5kVAC. The distance between the input pin and the grounding mounting hole of the new CN-B110 series products has been increased from 2.9mm of the previous generation to 11.8mm. Compared with the old products, the safety distance increased by about 3 times leaves enough margin for customer applications, making it easier for customers to meet higher altitude or pressure resistance requirements.
The CN-B110 series has a high-precision active current sharing function and can support 11 module power supplies in parallel output. When the CN-B110 series is working in the current sharing state, the IOG pin (optional) can be used to independently detect the operating status of each power supply in real time. The high-precision current sharing feature can help customers evenly distribute the output power to each DC-DC, and achieve redundant parallel connection by adding an Oring FET to meet the high reliability requirements of the overall system.
The CN-B110 series adopts a mature and reliable fixed frequency soft switching topology, which features high efficiency, high reliability, long life and low noise. The CN-B110 series has extremely low no-load loss and high efficiency under light load conditions. This ensures that multiple power supplies can work redundantly under common light load conditions and achieve optimized design of overall system power consumption. Its mature topology and excellent internal thermal management ensure that the output can start with a capacitive load of up to 30000uF, and can calmly cope with the impact of harsh loads in terminal applications.
The CN-B110 series of 4:1 wide-range input DC-DC converters for the rail transit industry are standard half-brick sizes, only 61mm long, 57.9mm wide, and 12.7mm high. It has a built-in 12V 10mA auxiliary power supply (optional), which allows users to directly use it for status detection or remote control applications, thereby effectively streamlining the system circuit, saving circuit board space, and reducing system design costs.
All CN-B110 series models comply with IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 safety standards (safety certification pending) and carry the CE mark for low voltage and RoHS directives.
