Why does China require independent research and development in many fields?

A certain type of machine tool is used for the integrated forming technology of titanium alloy impeller discs. The 7-axis linkage machine tool mills the discs until they are almost finished and then enters the ECM machine tool. The processing efficiency is 7 times higher than that of all milling.

The global ban on the export of machine tools that can make impeller discs to China. Even if you buy materials from Russia, you cannot process them.

I bought similar ones from abroad that were not banned, and they cost 15 million euros per unit. They also added a GPS and a monitor, and they couldn't move or process anything other than the designated products.

Later, we tried to find a way to "localize" the products, which meant buying foreign companies, building factories in China, and having the acquired manufacturers produce in China.

Well, it still costs 15 million euros, but there are no tariffs, no embargoes, no GPS, no surveillance, and the service is first-class and available at any time. After all, buying a company also costs money, even if the money is "borrowed" by the country.

This is to solve the problem of "having" and "not having". Another thing is to solve the cost problem.

Robotics was one of the hottest industries in China in the past few years. However, reducers are controlled by a few Japanese companies such as Harmonics and Teijin.

Chinese enterprises' hard work in public relations, 863 plan special project .

Teijin directly reduced the price of a certain type of reducer for Chinese manufacturers from 8,000 to 3,500. China produces more than 150,000 industrial robots of various types and nearly 300,000 reducers a year.

Domestic reducers only account for about 20% to 30% of the market share, but with similar quality, Japanese suppliers have begun to drastically cut prices in an attempt to strangle domestic products in the cradle.

For panels, we were fooled by the State Council and placed our hopes on Taiwanese suppliers, but they were cut off. Then Koreans and Taiwanese started to make money from them.

We reluctantly invested in BOE, even though it is 1-2 generations behind, but as long as we continue to invest, Korean and Taiwanese panel manufacturers will have to lower their prices as soon as domestically produced ones come out. The annual investment of 20-50 billion will result in a reduction of hundreds of billions in the purchase cost of domestically produced TV sets.

This is to solve the problem of "pricing power".

Thermal power generation equipment is a basic industry and a must-have product for the national economy and people's livelihood. In the 1980s, domestic products were clumsy and crude, with low thermal efficiency and serious pollution.

In the 1990s, China began to follow the advanced technology of foreign countries and some enterprises began to export. After joining the WTO, China gradually mastered the advanced manufacturing technology through international division of labor and gradually began to occupy the market of developing countries.

After 2010, the world's leading equipment was developed. Now, enterprises represented by Harbin Boiler, Dongfang Electric, and Shanghai Electric have made power generation equipment the second largest category of Chinese exports, and advanced equipment such as supercritical generator sets have gradually become the main export products.

Such equipment exports bring not only equipment, but also a series of additional businesses such as services and engineering contracting. We have become "foreign experts" like Alstom and Siemens in the past, enjoying the best local treatment.

This is a question of resolving the position in the industrial chain and value chain.

Why do many middle-class people in Europe and America work 180 days a year and take a vacation in July and August, driving cars, towing RVs, sailboats, and motorcycles to resorts such as the Mediterranean to rest? Why can they count the time from the time they leave the house when they go abroad to visit clients, fly business class, and stay in five-star hotels when they arrive? Why do they have generous benefits and stable treatment?

Because they are at the upstream of the industrial chain, they control the pricing and standard-setting power in many industries. They can decide how much a company earns, and they can decide your productivity.

This is industrial hegemony and technological monopoly.

Why does China need to conduct independent research and development in many fields? ? ?

Because we also want 1.3 billion people to live a happy life! Because the yearning of 1.3 billion Chinese for a better life cannot be stopped!

In 2012, when Obama was interviewed by Australian TV at the White House, he issued an extremely terrifying and stern warning against China's historical choice to change its development model after "making full use of opportunities" and allow the Chinese people to live a prosperous life.

Obama made a clear announcement to the world through television cameras: If more than one billion Chinese people were to live the same life as the United States and Australia, it would be a tragedy and disaster for mankind, and the earth would not be able to bear it.

We don’t want to be pigs, we don’t want to work hard, and we don’t want to keep working in sweatshops for British, American, Japanese, and Korean capitalists!

We want to work as R&D engineers at Huawei. We don’t want to work as quality inspectors at Foxconn!

We want to work as designers in Chinese toy companies at the level of LEGO. We don’t want to work as assemblers of export toys in Yongkang hardware factories!

We want to work as test engineers in a Chinese reducer company at the same level as Teijin. We don’t want to work in a die-casting factory moving sand-cast parts!

We want to work as a parts purchasing manager at a textile machinery company like Lida with a monthly salary of 30,000. We don’t want to work as a wiring worker in a textile factory run by Taiwanese working in a 12-hour shift!

We want to be open source system engineers of Hongmeng. We don’t want to be solderers without safety protection in a connector company run by Koreans!

We want to work as operation trainers for a Chinese engineering machinery company at the level of Caterpillar. We don’t want to go dig foundation pits in the mountains of Africa!

Why do we need independent research and development?

A few days ago, NetEase News' "To the Forward" column interviewed Wei Shaojun and Zhao Weiguo to discuss the topic of China's current imports of more than 300 billion US dollars of semiconductor products. It clearly shows that semiconductors have become the field that China needs to achieve independent substitution as soon as possible.

If independent substitution is not achieved, China will not only lose a large amount of foreign exchange, but also its chip security and network security will never be fully under its own control, and it will always be strangled.

Because your opponent will not take the initiative to give you the opportunity to grow! Only by independent research and development and controlling core technologies can you gradually attack the upstream industrial chain.

Only by occupying the high value-added areas of the industrial chain can we enable the people to live a good life.
