2017 IC China: Unigroup helps realize the dream of a strong nation

On October 25, the 15th China International Semiconductor Expo and Summit Forum IC CHINA 2017 was grandly opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. As the leading enterprise in China's integrated circuit industry, the core chip industry enterprises of Tsinghua Unigroup, such as Spreadtrum Communications, RDA Microelectronics, Tsinghua Unigroup Guoxin, and Yangtze Memory Technologies, made an integrated appearance to fully display the layout of the "Unigroup Core" industrial chain, covering the latest products of mobile communications, Internet of Things, semiconductor devices, security chips, FPGA, storage, chip manufacturing, and technology services. Mobile Communications New Layout

As one of the top three mobile phone chip design companies in the world, Spreadtrum Communications, a subsidiary of Tsinghua Unigroup, comprehensively improved its product layout and structure in 2017 and launched four new and differentiated LTE chip platforms, Spreadtrum SC9861, SC9853I, SC9850, and SC9820, covering the high, medium and low-end global markets.


Among them, Spreadtrum SC9853I adopts Intel's advanced 14nm process technology, built-in 8-core 64-bit Intel Airmont processor architecture, with a main frequency of 1.8GHz, and has efficient mobile computing performance and ultra-low power management. It can support five-mode downlink Cat 7 + uplink Cat 13 two-way carrier aggregation, 1080P high-definition video playback, 18:9 full HD FHD+ (1080*2160) screen display and up to 16 million pixel dual cameras. At the same time, Spreadtrum SC9853I has improved the processing power of the camera, including support for dual cameras, built-in 3DNR to improve the night scene shooting experience, and can realize depth of field, real-time beauty, 3D modeling, AR and other functions. In terms of communication capabilities, Spreadtrum's unique EverMuLTE TM technology can realize dual-card dual 4G dual VoLTE functions, comprehensively improving the call experience. At the same time, the solution can fully support urban NFC payment applications.

In the era of the Internet of Everything, RDA Microelectronics, a subsidiary of Tsinghua Unigroup, focuses on the research and development and design of IoT chips. It has demonstrated a variety of highly integrated and high-performance Bluetooth chips, WiFi chips, LTE front-end RF solutions and broadcasting and television chips.


Among them, RDA5836 is the latest high-performance Bluetooth audio system-on-chip released by RDA. The chip integrates high-performance MCU, Bluetooth, FM Radio, PMU, Codec and Memory on a single chip; supports multiple decoding algorithms such as SBC, AAC, WMA, and has rich interface resources to meet the development needs of various Bluetooth products; unique echo cancellation and noise suppression technology ensures ultra-clear call effects; Bluetooth audio signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) reaches 102dB, ensuring perfect sound quality; passed strict Bluetooth standard certification and obtained Bluetooth V4.2 QDID certificate; has the world's leading ultra-low power consumption, the current is as low as 10mA when playing Bluetooth music, the connection standby current can reach 500uA, and the shutdown current is less than 3uA. RDA5836 has been widely praised as soon as it was launched for its excellent performance and cost, and it is expected that the shipment volume will exceed 100 million by the end of 2018.

With the rapid development of smart hardware, security has become an important issue that cannot be ignored. As a domestic security chip manufacturer, Tongfang Microelectronics' dual-interface POS machine SoC chip THM3100 is a chip product that supports my country's commercial cryptographic algorithms and is specially developed to meet the security requirements of my country's financial card applications. It is a major national science and technology project result. This series of chips provides FLASH, RAM, BBRAM memory, as well as hardware DES, RSA, ECC and other encryption algorithm modules, and supports domestic algorithms with a rich external interface. With its high security, the solution won the 2017 12th China Core Security and Reliability Product Award.


In addition to security in the field of the Internet of Things, security issues in the field of mobile terminals are equally severe. Mobile phone security and chips are absolutely related. Spreadtrum's independently designed security chip, Spreadtrum SL8301, has six major features: biometrics, payment security, hardware encryption, secure communication, manageability and controllability, and whole machine security. It solves the integrity and security of the entire mobile terminal system from the core chip hardware source, and comprehensively guarantees the security and reliability of information data, and autonomous control. At present, this solution has been adopted by Yiqing's latest X5S secure mobile phone.

FPGA Industry Leading

As a leading domestic FPGA company, Unigroup Tongchuang brought high-quality FPGA products to IC China 2017. It displayed its 10 million-gate Titan series high-performance FPGAs, 1 million-gate Logos series cost-effective FPGAs, FPGA development boards, and customer product boards with independent intellectual property rights, and demonstrated the leading domestic solution of programmable network processing platform with solution provider Hunan Huaxintong Network Company.


The Titan series PGT180H device has 180,000 programmable logic units and more than 600 GPIOs. It supports high-speed storage interface DDR3, high-speed serial communication interface SerDes, PCIe GEN1/GEN2, Gigabit/10 Gigabit network interface and other high-speed interfaces. It is currently China's only independent intellectual property rights tens of millions of gates and high-performance FPGA. It can meet the needs of mid-to-high-end applications such as communication networks, information security, and artificial intelligence, and has been mass-produced and shipped.


Meanwhile, for the low-density FPGA market, Unigroup Tongchuang has launched the latest Logos series FPGA products. Among them, the PGL22G device has 22,000 programmable logic units, a built-in AES encryption engine, anti-single particle upset characteristics, an embedded ADC module, and supports high-speed interfaces such as LVDS and DDR3. It can meet the needs of low-end applications such as industry, the Internet of Things, and consumer electronics, and samples have been released.

Storage DRAM Industry Mission

Memory is the core device of the semiconductor industry, and its market size accounts for about a quarter of the total semiconductor market size. As a core enterprise in China's memory design and development, Xi'an Unigroup Guoxin shoulders the heavy responsibility of developing the domestic memory industry. It has DRAM memory and NAND Flash memory design and development technology. At this IC China 2017, Xi'an Unigroup Guoxin brought SDR/DDR/DDR2/DDR3 DRAM chip products, embedded ECC DDR/DDR2/DDR3 DRAM chip products, various types of DRAM module products and NAND Flash chip products.


Among them, the embedded self-detection and repair (ECC) DRAM chip series products are the world's first series of commercial embedded ECC technology DRAM chip products launched by Xi'an Unigroup Guoxin. They have the characteristics of wide temperature range, high reliability, and multiple interfaces, and are "plug and play" compatible with traditional JEDEC standard DRAM chips.

In addition to the research and development of memory chips, chip manufacturing capabilities are also of great strategic significance to the development of national integrated circuits. Yangtze Memory was formally established in 2016. It is an important carrier of my country's memory development strategy and has achieved a breakthrough in the scale development of China's memory. In particular, SJ MOSFET manufactured with a new generation of technology has greatly improved the current density per unit area, has lower on-resistance, lower switching loss, and improved overall product energy efficiency.
