On September 26, as "the world's first 5G modem-to-antenna solution that supports 10Gbps 5G transmission rate and complies with 3GPP Release 16 specifications", Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 5G modem and RF system was named "World Internet Leading Scientific and Technological Achievement" by the 2021 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit. The conference used "extraordinary contribution" to evaluate the latest science and technology that won the award. This is the fifth time in recent years that Qualcomm has won the "World Internet Leading Scientific and Technological Achievement" for its leading 5G innovation.

Snapdragon X65 drives global 5G evolution with leading technology and scalability

In June of this year, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, the Snapdragon X65 demonstrated a connection rate of more than 10Gbps, breaking the record for cellular communication connection speeds. Last year, the 3GPP standards organization launched a new 5G specification, Release 16, which defines the next stage of global 5G development. It is worth mentioning that the Snapdragon X65 is the world's first 5G modem-to-antenna solution that complies with the 3GPP Release 16 5G standard. Even more amazing is that the Snapdragon X65 adopts an architecture design that can support feature combination upgrades to support rapid commercial use. This means that new features can be continuously added through the Snapdragon X65 to expand 5G in multiple application segments beyond smartphones. In May of this year, Qualcomm launched upgraded features for the Snapdragon X65, including energy efficiency improvements, as well as support for millimeter wave independent networking (SA) mode and millimeter wave carrier bandwidth of up to 200MHz, the latter of which is a key requirement for meeting China's 5G millimeter wave deployment.
Based on Snapdragon X65, Qualcomm and ZTE jointly achieved China's first high-speed connection using 5G NR independent networking dual connection (NR-DC) in August this year, based on 200MHz carrier channels in the 26GHz millimeter wave band and 100MHz bandwidth in the 3.5GHz band. This is a 5G millimeter wave milestone achieved by both parties in order to cooperate with and support the 5G millimeter wave testing and deployment requirements for supporting 200MHz carrier bandwidth formulated by the IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group. At present, China's 5G development is progressing steadily, and millimeter wave will be an important area for 5G to deepen in the future.
