Brush off every speck of dust on the lens of the "camera" in the engineer's hand and capture the deepest eyes!
If there are fingerprints on your phone screen, you might just brush them off;
There is dust on the camera lens, you may blow it away slowly;
Have you ever thought that as the voltage of high-speed serial signals is getting lower and lower, and the frequency is getting higher and higher, when we use engineers' "cameras" - oscilloscopes to measure , do our engineers also need to remove the "dust" from their "cameras"?
We all know that when conducting eye diagram and jitter testing on high-speed serial signals, the proportion occupied by random jitter (RJ) is difficult to predict because it has no identifiable pattern. A typical example of random noise is the sound heard when a radio receiver is tuned to a carrier frequency with no activity. Although in theory a random process has an arbitrary probability distribution, we assume that the random jitter exhibits a Gaussian distribution to build the jitter model. One reason for this assumption is that in many circuits, the main source of random noise is thermal noise (also called Johnson noise or shot noise), which exhibits a Gaussian distribution.
Speaking of which, our engineer's camera, the oscilloscope, as a measuring instrument rich in integrated circuits for measuring the circuit under test, will "contribute" its own share of random noise (RJ). How to blow off the oscilloscope's own noise? The "grey (RJ)" of the belt has become a key factor for us to obtain more accurate measurement results.
After updating to the latest Infiniium 11.40 version firmware, you can calibrate the oscilloscope's own random noise (RJ) to remove it, giving you more accurate measurements.
Really make the camera lens (oscilloscope) you have spotless! Capture the deepest eyes!
