Intel and Lenovo jointly demonstrate the next generation of super cloud desktop solutions
Inject strong momentum into commercial IoT and accelerate the deployment and application of commercial IoT in all walks of life.
At the 7th Lenovo Techworld 2021, held online recently , Intel and Lenovo jointly showcased their latest collaboration - the new generation of super cloud desktop solutions . Based on the fruitful results of the two parties' previous joint marketing, product and solution research and development, the jointly launched super cloud desktop solution represents the further deepening of Intel and Lenovo's cooperation in the field of commercial IoT.
Lenovo's Ultra Cloud Desktop Solution is based on the Intel® Ultra Cloud Client TCI Transparent Client Infrastructure , and is combined with a cloud-edge integrated secure office solution built on Lenovo's edge computing platform, which can meet the core needs of industry users for unified deployment of IoT terminal devices, data security, centralized control, and more.
As a new generation of cloud desktop solution, this solution can achieve high-speed batch operating system deployment, application distribution and user data storage in a gigabit network environment, and has four major features: offline continuous computing, powerful local computing performance, full compatibility of I/O devices/software, and centralized mirroring and data management. Compared with traditional VDI solutions, Super Cloud Desktop has greater advantages in user experience, compatibility, management convenience, terminal reuse rate and total investment cost.
Lenovo launched the cloud terminal ECC-T30 this year, which is applicable to the latest super cloud desktop solution. The T30 is equipped with an Intel Core processor , supports Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems, is equipped with a native printing interface and PS2 port, provides dual display output (VGA+HDMI), and has powerful peripheral access capabilities. It can be widely used in financial counters, medical offices and other industry scenarios.
The TCI Transparent Client Infrastructure, which supports Lenovo's new generation of cloud desktop solutions, is one of the super cloud terminal solution architectures launched by Intel in 2020. Through end-to-end deployment, TCI has strong advantages in local computing, centralized management, peripheral compatibility and account personalization configuration. It is worth mentioning that Intel® Super Cloud Terminal has made many major progresses since its release a year ago: it has completed the iteration of two versions of TCI, helping leading customers to successfully complete trials and commercial deployments; it has completed the graphics card virtualization based on Intel GVT-g technology for IDV, and will realize hardware-based graphics card virtualization in 2022. At the same time, Super Cloud Terminal has also completed the management-side integration of TCI and IDV, and will complete the client integration of the two in the future to achieve end-to-end connection and more flexible edge-cloud synergy. In addition, Super Cloud Terminal has opened comprehensive localization support to customers in the Chinese market and has been deployed in many fields.
In addition, Intel TCI technology can also be integrated with Lenovo's edge computing platform solution LECP, another technological achievement of Lenovo in the commercial IoT field , to form complementary advantages and support the construction of intelligent vertical industry solutions from the end, edge, and cloud levels. Taking the financial window solution as an example, Lenovo deploys the LECP light edge suite on the TCI client to achieve device interconnection and centralized control of the service window to ensure data security and confidentiality. LECP can also provide TCI with background services to naturally expand cloud native capabilities, provide performance application guarantees, reliable data storage, and high availability of the overall system. In the education scenario, LECP can realize intelligent operation and maintenance of the TCI client, connect every school and every classroom through end-edge-cloud collaboration, realize seamless cross-school roaming, access and sharing of public cloud teaching resources, and push and update of global edge applications.
One year after the release of Intel® Super Cloud Terminal, it has been deployed in different industry scenarios such as education, medical care, finance, telecommunications, and manufacturing, greatly expanding its application boundaries. The cooperation between Intel and Lenovo will inject strong momentum into commercial IoT and accelerate the deployment and application of commercial IoT in various industries. In the future, Intel will continue to work with many industry ecosystem partners to maximize the use of Intel products to launch super cloud terminal solutions that can better meet the needs of different industry application scenarios and lead the industry's intelligent transformation .
